INNOV K1 INSTALLATION on HONDA CBF 1000 AA
PS: I want to apologies now for my English. Please be cool.
First, I want to talk about the choice. After hours of search on the net, INNOVV K1 is the only system I find which answer the two important things for me. It has all the functionalities of a “DashCam”. Recording start with power on, stop on power off. It records on SD card, cycling, erasing older files. It records front and rear in the same time. And records also all GPS data. Nothing to mind about. Just install and forget, till you needs to check images.
The second point is that cams are water resistant. That could seems nothing, but when you live in a country with tempered climate, it rains sometimes. So that’s critical for me.
THE BOX
Nothing to add about packaging. Everything is here, right protected. Maybe a little smooth cover on the top. But all I really fine.

THE INSTALLATION OF THE FRONT CAMERA
The harder is to find the right place. The place who discourage to steal the cam and gave the better view, without disturbing moto functions. Triple challenge ^^.
On the HONDA CBF 1000 AA the harder was the front one. I thought first about fixing it under the front fairing. But it was really complicated with a real risk of crushing between the fairing and the wheel mud guard. Not enough place, see image below.
In some way of luck, cam just fit between the two headlights.
So I decide to make a hole in the fairing. Anyway, the cam is totally protected and quit invisible.
INSTALLATION OF REAR CAMERA
Very much easier. As I have all the place I need to fix it.
The cam is screwed by the inside. And a second hole is made for the cable.
My rear fairing is not the original one. But as you can see on pic below, even on the original one there are enough place to fit the cam.
GPS INSTALLATION
The important thing for GPS is not to have much things that can jam the signal.
As it is very light and not water resistant, I just stick it inside my rear fairing, on top, with stickers given in the box.
The recorder unit is no more water resistant. You have to put it in a dry place. Secure from water. You have also to think about taking and putting back the SD Card. So place to act with hands. And in the end, you have to see the screen, as you’ll need to for parameters.
On CBF 1000 there is sadly no place to fit the recorder. So I decide to put it in place of the HONDA user’s manual. Under the passenger’s seat.
Not really easy to access but you’re sure to keep it dry.
INSTALLATION OF POWER UNIT
The little power unit should be close from DVR because the USB cable is short. The first thing to do is to locate a cable powered when you turn key on. You can do that easily with a volt meter. Once located, there is a way to connect avoiding problems, and to be sure the connection won’t cause electrical malfunctions.
First, instead of « cutting » the sheath, you should get it hot with something like a lighter. When soft enough, you just had to pull it with fingers to make the copper appear. That will protect you from cutting it inadvertently.
Now spread the copper in two equal parts, making a hole.
Put the cable you want to connect thru the hole and roll it around.
Now you had to weld all that with tin. No misconducts. And finally just cover all with Chatterton or any other stick tape.
For the connection with the battery, I advise to use the right pods, adapted to your system. Weld with tin also.
Still the problem of jam. There are much equipment’s in a moto that could jam the video signal. Recently I read one of your communication about a K1 user who adds some “Ferrite” to avoid the jamming problem.

Here it is. The install is finish for me because I won’t install the button as it is not water resistant but must be accessible. Not possible for me.
