ThirdEYE's Rear Collision Warning is especially important to motorcyclists who don't have a direct rear-facing mirror like most vehicles and certainly don't have exterior protecting bodywork.
However, the ThirdEYE indicator modes do not distinguish between concurrent left and right lane BSD/LCA and RCW.
I suggest that RCW be signified by dual fast flashing indicators, say 0.1 seconds On and Off and that it be highest priority in the indication mode.
Second priority would be BSD with left and/or right steady indicators and third priority would be LCA with left and/or right slow flashing indicators, say 0.25 seconds On and Off.
I just purchased my ThirdEYE but I'm ready to return it along with $150 for an upgrade to the above modifications.
This is too funny. Especially so because it proves I'm right again (get used to it).
I went to the KiWAV site to obtain greater understanding of their BSD (Innovv's documentation as well as product is superior). There was an installation video so I watched it to the end. And then YouTube queued up some related videos, the first being INNOVV Third Eye Motorcycle Radar & Blind Spot System by RiderCamTV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHMn8xwsT_c 🤣 And during the first part of the video he moved his already installed alarm indicators from the mirrors to the edge of the console so they would always be in his field of view rather than having to continuously shift his attention away from the direction of travel. Just like I've been explaining how Cueing vice Seeing works.🌟
And he kept repeating how bright the alarm indicators were. Well yeah cloudy afternoon in England. Those Innovv indicators ain't gonna cut it in sunny SoCal as I'm riding with sunglasses and a photochromic faceshield. That's why I need the yellow Aplinetech repeaters.
I know how to add the repeaters.
Now I (we) need Innovv to add the disambiguation capabilities I described for RCW, BSD and LCA.😀
Aren't BSD/LCA and RCW all basically the same?
When I look at cars, they are all displayed in the same way. A continuously lit symbol on the exterior mirror.
With motorcycles with mirrors you always have a view to the rear, right? Or are you unable to adjust (mechanically) the mirrors on your motorcycle properly?
The ThirdEye indicates whether a vehicle is in the left or right blind spot.
If you have to pay attention to the ThirdEye whether it is on or flashing (does it flash quickly or slowly), this again takes response time. In my opinion, if the ThirdEye indicator lights up, there could be a vehicle in the blind spot. Ultimately, as a driver you have to ensure safety yourself, so you should not rely entirely on all kinds of technical gadgets.
Hello Bert, here is how the thirdeye display the alarm in different situations. Do you mean your thirdeye can not show the right alarm in BSD/LCA/RCW?
