I just ordered a ThirdEYE "Mirror" version for my 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT-S. I live in sunny San Diego where the sunlight often washes out the console indicators and even the LCD. To ensure I can always see the turn indicators I installed two Alpinetech 12mm 1/2" Green Pilot Lamp repeaters in the console. [For an unknown reason I'm not able to add an image of my console in sunlight and in shadow.]
As I anticipate a similar washout for your Mirror indicators, especially since they apparently have a dimming function, I want to use the Yellow version of the Alpinetech lamps for indicators. The Alpinetech lamps draw 15mA.
Would you please publish the interface to your mirror indicators including function, wire color and as appropriate maximum current permitted.
Yeah I know this will void my warranty but I'd prefer to see the repeaters. Thanks.
Examining the Mirror version instructions, the left indicator has an alert light and an on/off button while the right indicator has an alert light and a [presumably ambient] light detector. So it's likely each indicator has four wires: two for light and two for button or detector. I just might be able to figure out this interface on my own.🤣
I've checked the coil current draw for low power (1A contacts) PCB relays but they all seem to draw 10-15mA same as the Alpinetech lamps so no benefit using them unless the Innovv lights are 5V, easily tested.
Looking forward to Innovv's answers and ThirdEYE delivery.
Hello Bert I am very interested in your results as well coming from the land down under as well, could you also post some of your installation photos as well as I am keen on installing the ThridEye on my spyder F3.
Hi Bert,
You should be able to add an image as a jpeg by clicking on the camera symbol at the bottom left of the comment field.
I hope to be able to do some testing with the ThirdEye (Rod version) next week, I installed it yesterday. I have to wait for better weather to test. I will pay attention to bright sunlight when testing.
