Nice concept, but before I pre-order any system, it is important to see and understand the wiring setup. I own (and use) two C5 cameras. Installation wasn't easy. Cable lengths need to be known, as well as power requirements. Installation of new (and different looking from the front) signals is a poor choice. Some folks care about how their motorcycle looks from front and rear. Splicing the motorcycle turn signal wires appears a requirement; the installation does seem to be a challenge.
Thank you for saying it is nice concept, I will be more than happy to hear that you say the real product is really nice too.
It is not easy as the design is new, no reference.
We have been working on the details about the installation, and would like to make few more options to fit the different motorcycle modes.
I am keening to learn the feedback and comment, and work together to make it to be cool. if not, we waste the nice idea.
Is this a rearview mirror replacement?
Duffy.online is right. Not preordering a thing until facts come first.
It will be two options,
One is to replace the original mirror, so can have the warning symbols displayed on ThirdEYE mirror.
Other option is a watch mounting on handle bar to see the warning LED.
Good idea to offer an option that doesn't require new mirrors. Will the "watch" attach to one or both mirrors? Placing it on the handlebars is a bad idea as you will have to divert your attention of the road to look at it. It needs to be mounted where it can be seen within the normal forward field of view! Still not crazy about one set of rear signals that will flash signal the people following will not understand. Signals need to be for the driver ONLY. The only thing a turn signal should indicate is a TURN!
Sorry for delayed reply.
Think about that, what could be if your rear mirror has ThirdEYE function? should be cool, right?
We are thinking about to copy the original mirror and add ThirdEYE to it, I believe you should be happy to have as the rear mirror is easy to replace.
I not sure what you mean. I suggested that replacing my mirrors to use the third-eye wasn't desirable. It would be nice to keep my mirrors and "add" the third-eye sensor to one or both mirrors (without a mess of wires). It is important the watch or indicator be where we are frequently looking (i.e, mirrors or speedometer) and NOT just on the handlebars.
We have been thinking that way to add the indicator on the original mirror, but it does not look simple and neat.
Other way is to make the rear mirror with the indicator, and the mirror is exactly same as your original one. so you can do replacement and does not see any difference, but with the cool blind spot feature.
We already made this for BMW.
What motorcycle do you have?
I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 650 but am using Kawasaki Versys 650 mirrors. They aren't expensive and provide better view of the rear than the stock Vulcan mirrors. The attached photo shows the versys mirrors on top and stock Vulcan mirrors on the bottom. If you need someone to field test the device in real city traffic let me know! I live in Bangkok.
Bangkok has heavy traffic.
Kawasaki Versys 650 mirrors, it is easy to make such set with Blind spot symbols.
Same as some new expensive cars, you can see symbols flashing if someone close to you.
Interesting concept. I'll be watching for updates!
Made update
Just to let you know the warning light for drivers is wired into your brake light not the indicators, not sure how legal that is in the
I drive frequently in congested city traffic and the warning indicator would be flash constantly! I have parking assist indicators on my Ford Ranger and disable them when driving; as they chirp too frequently or too late to avoid an accident. Personally, the Third Eye is not something I'd install on a motorcycle.
Each to their own, personally I'll take all the help I can
The way they work in my mercedes is that they only light up when I turn on my indicators. I would love to have that on my bike, makes it 1000% safer. Especially in the Barcelona traffic where there are hundreds of motorcycle at high speeds all around you.
Will there be custom replacement mirrors for an aged BMW F650ST ? I have two of these bikes (lookinglike new) where i would be interested to add the ThirdEye. However, only if the origin mirrors size and detail could be used as the origin mirrors are actually designed to minimize wind buffing from the windshield
Hello, thank you for your interest in our product first. We are sorry to inform you that the customized ThirdEye is not available now and we will forward this to our colleagues to further check.
