Hello to all my wind therapy friends, I install the k5 a few months ago and after some errors on my end it's up and running, the last few weeks I seem to be having a hard time viewing my videos on the app nothing is showing up to view but If I remove the SD card and put it in the computer they work and look great
I'm using a extreme 512 gb micro sd card and the settings on the app said I still had 10 gig left before it starts the recording over the first on the loop setting didn't know if the k5 has an issue that after a certain amount of time or gigs used that it will not show the videos on the app
I'm not having any issues getting into the controls to change things so I figured I'd ask others who may have seen or heard of this
Thanks in advance for any help
Roger
Another update from my side. I formatted my card yesterday (way too much effort to get the card out with the way mine had to be installed). Obviously after that I can view the new videos. That said, about 40 minutes was not even recorded. And obviously specifically the section of road I wanted recorded. 😥
It recorded up to a point, then no videos of the piece I wanted, and then again when I parked. Checked all the folders. Does that happen to you guys as well?
Don't know how many files there were don't really look at that much just wanted for incident reference and when I go for some nice rides to save most on the sd card that I cleaned were from going and coming from work
It would suck if something did happen that I would not be able to access to show at the time I needed to
As stated the k5 said it can handle a 512g card and that is what I'm using with 5 minutes capture time and loop record
Even when it writes over still no video on the app
If anything is needed by the innovv team to see where the issue may be I'll try to get it to you, just make a list up so I have
😥 not ok. Thanks for the update, you two.
@INNOVV I can't see that this can be deemed acceptable? After all, this is quite an expensive product. Can you please provide an acceptable solution for this issue asap?
I got mine to start viewing the footage only after putting the sd card into the main computer and deleting 3/4 of the files so at this time when I'm not able to view on the app I delete and reinstall the SD
Has this been resolved? I have the same issue and I am not very happy about it. ☹️
I can still view settings, but no videos come up.
Thank you Hans. You efforts are much appreciated. The problem arises earlier in the process, before even being able to download. And yes, I agree, I do not have to and do not want to download the vids. I want to be able to scan through them on the phone before I download specific ones and let the rest be overwritten. This has worked well in the past, so it must have something to do with changes in the software on either side (innovv or android). Anyway... The mobile device will connect with the DVR and the app will show the menu. Then, upon entering the Camera files folder (regardless of the subfolder), the screen goes blank after the circling doughnut disappears. The app seems to lose connection to the DVR and from then onward, it's game over and reset-time. You delete and re-download the app, reset the DVR and have a connection for 1-2 times before you are blocked out again. Pretty annoying... All done in flight mode by the way, as suggested.
Hi Hans when I have the wifi connection to the k5 and access the app to look at yhe files dosen't matter camera, local, parking ,crash the little swirling thing that thinks and should show the videos goes for a few seconds then everything is still blank nothing shows on any of the file icons
I didn't have time last night to remove the SD card and delete a bunch of videos on the computer which does show me all the videos as frostie recommended to do yet hoping to see if that does anything will keep all updated
Perhaps thinking too simple... I don't read anywhere that the videos have to be downloaded to the phone first to be able to watch in the phone/app.
Unless you have a WiFi connection with your K5 and then want to watch the videos directly from the SD card in the DVR.
... Stopped working again. Seems we have a bit of a problem here...
Hey @RogersRGU. I would not assume the card as being a problem. I have the exact same config. My card has been overwritten many times without any issues. I left the setting at 3' intervals which makes the files a bit easier in handling. But i guess that dos not really matter.
Hello frostie
There are alot of files on it I have it set at 5 minutes recording time and since the weather is finally good I'm riding a lot more
Was able to enter settings once after complete re-installation, thereafter no connection possible whatsoever.
This problem arises with some iPhones and Androids as well. Depending on the version of the OS, the phone has difficulties to handle two default gateways.
When you connect to the K5 wifi (same goes to the K2 and K3), it propagates itself as a default gateway to the phone. Simply said this tells the phone that it can reach all non-local networks over this connection. But at the same time the phone already has a default gateway, which is the mobile connection. So at this moment there are two default gateways, which obviously is not possible. Some phones can handle this conflict and simply ignore the mobile default gateway at this moment, so they are able to access the K5. But some phones ignores the wifi default gateway and try to access the K5 over the mobile connection, which does not work.
Switching the phone to airplane mode disables the mobile connection and therefore the mobile default gateway. So there is only one default gateway (the wifi gateway) which goes directly to the K5.
Have an android. And it used to work without AP mode
Hello guys, sorry for the problem you met.
Could you open the iPhone airplane mode and then only open WiFi function, then connect your K5 WiFi and see if you can go into the K5 app settings.
Thanks srk01 sorry to say hope I was not only one please let me know when and if you get a response
Same here Roger. Same config, same symptoms. I updated everything (firmware, app) deleted, re-installed, set back to factory settings, etc. No luck. Was able to enter settings once after complete re-installation, thereafter no connection possible whatsoever. Cam is recording though, but nor being able to access the files without a computer / tablet makes a dash cam pretty useless. I sent an email to innovv. Curious to see if I get any response. Will keep you posted. Sandro
