I was riding around today running an errand to get some oil for my motorcycle and noticed my green light flashing rapidly. I tried connecting to the camera via the app, and it didn't appear to be working properly - just got errors about being unable to access the card. I pulled the SD card and popped it into the USB-C adapter hooked up to my Mac and... I was prompted to initialize it -- looks like the SD card died completely :(
It was a SAMSUNG EVO Select, 512GB microSDXC 130MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD, UHS-I, U3, A2, V30 (MB-ME512KA/AM).
The card is only two months old. Is it possible it is't rugged enough for the K5? Does anyone have another good 512GB card they'd recommend?
I have a day trip I'm taking tomorrow on the bike so I ran out to a CVS and picked up a Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB UHS-I / A1.
I'm running the latestfirmware, V1.1.12, which I updated to last month after I noticed 50% of my camera's recording files themselves were corrupted which was attributed to bugs in the original firmware.
Hi, Benjamin, sorry for the problem you got, K5 is with 4k solution in the front camera, a SD card with U3 speed, higher than V30 rate is recommended, could you please change another SD card and try?
Many thanks for your cooperation and hope the problem will be solved soon.
I've also had the experience of SD cards failing.
Especially in a warm environment and when a lot of read/disk actions are performed. Had this in my Canon camera.
Unfortunately, the life of an SD card is not eternal. Just like many other data carriers.
