Greetings.
Any advice on how to rewire my K5 camera (or DC/DC converter) so that it doesn't drain my battery when the bike is off? I prefer the camera system to completely shut off when I turn off the bike. I'm not interested in "parking mode" or the last 1 minute video that may be recording.
Thanks in advance.
Jason
After a little more research, I purchased a FUSE BLOCK and a SWITCHED RELAY and designed this schematic around them. This should nicely solve my problem and in fact, this schematic should work with any motorcycle. This fuse block choice also offers me an uncomplicated way to add more accessories to my bike.
If you want to completely cut off power to the K5 when igntion is off, the cheapest way would be to use a relay with a delayed cut-off. Like the Hella 5HE996152131 relay, which allows the delay to be set to anything between 0 - 900 seconds.
Place it into the wiring like described here.

That's the way I installed the K2/K3 on my 2020 Tiger 1200. The relay fitted nicely under the battery cover.
I used the relay to control power to the K2/K3 and the navigation system, so I set the delay to something around 2 min. For only the cam, a delay longer than 30 sec would be enough.
