Hello I have had no problem with my K5 and love it, however recently it stayed on after turning the bike off, as I never normally check it luckily I went back to the bike about 10 minutes later and seen that the K5 was still active, so my first step was to start the bike let it run for about one minute then turn it off, whereas that worked it has not happened again over the last 3 days but I am checking it once I finish riding.
My only question would it be the DC/DC converter playing up.
Hello Hans,
I used the multimeter as suggested abd had no reading by the time I managed to get to it, unfortunately with a Can Am Spyder where I have placed it is not a quick task, so I will be watching it in future.
Ride safe and have Fun
Hello Herman,
It could indeed be a problem with the DC converter. Can you use a multimeter to measure whether there is still voltage on the yellow wire after switching off the motorcycle? I think the switching point of the DC converter was around 6V, but 0V is of course the best. If the K5 remains on when the voltage on the yellow wire is 0V, disconnect the yellow wire and see what happens. Also check the negative connection (black wire) to be sure. If this is no longer correct, this may be the cause of the problem.
By the way, I have moved your question to the correct topic, that of the K5.
