Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions about our INNOVV K5 dash cam.
One of the questions I have, is how do you easily get data off of the DVR? with the DVR now being a unit exposed to the elements, I am guessing the SD card is not easily accessible, and moving 200GB of data from a day of riding over WiFi would take hours.
Hello Joe, thank you for your interest in INNOVV K5 first. You could easily get data from the SD card from DVR. Download the video via INNOVV App with Wi-Fi connection will take longer time. INNOVV K5 supports dual-band Wi-Fi and transfer data via 5.8 Ghz will be faster and more stable.
Hi Joe,
I am guessing the SD card is not easily accessible, and moving 200GB of data from a day of riding over WiFi would take hours.
You are correct that using wifi to download all videos would take hours. One hour of recording creates 21,6GB of data (both front and rear cam). Using 5.8GHz wifi, it would take around 36min to download them from the K5.
So if you want to get all videos, the best and fastest way it to remove the sd card. The sd card slot is located at the left side of the K5, behind a sealed cover. So when mounting the K5 on your bike, you should take care that this side is easy accessible.
Below are two pictures from an early sample, where the screws are M2. According to Rock, the final version will get M3 screws for better handling.
And please ignore the three orange cables on top of the K5. They are installed by me to get shell access to the K5.
Can you take photos with this set up? If so does it take front and back?
Here some pictures of my construction.
I placed the K5 under the K2.
Thanks Hans. My comment was a bit confusing. I meant does the K5 take photos? If so how easy is it to take them and does it take photos from both cameras.
@Becstas Adventures BBriefly press the button on the remote control and a photo will be taken. A photo is taken both in front and behind, 2 separate photos.
These photos are stored in a separate folder on the SD card.
As Hans said, you can use the remote control to let the K5 save videos or take pictures.
Click on the button => save video
Doubleklick on the button => take photo
In both cases, the K5 will save the video or photo from both cams.
The green camera led on the remote control will blink twice when the photo was taken.
Thanks Hans and Frostie for replying.
Would love to see the quality of the photos if anyone gets a chance to take some.
Here a few pictures taken at a speed of 86 km/h.

Rear
Hans thanks for that. They are great photos.
@Frostie @Hans Thank you for your sharing here!π Hope you would have more riding fun with INNOVV K5 dash cam.
I'm thinking about ordering one and the SD card access is a poor design from my perspective. One should not have to remove screws to get to a memory card, maybe replace the M3's with thumbscrews or the like?
Hello Eddie, thank you for your interest in our product first. We are glad to inform you that the screw will be the M3 one for the INNOVV K5's final version.

Thumbscrews are a good idea for daily use, though they will disturb the neat appearance. For replacing the screws with thumbscrews, you will need one with a partial thread to keep the lock ring.
I was thinking the same, more so I am concerned with always opening/closing that panel and the fact its (in most cases) exposed to direct weather and water that the seal may wear down, or maybe not be tight at some point.
@JoeKelly.co
The seal is a simple rubber lid. So even if it breaks, you could easily make one yourself.
Does the K5 have any type of image stabilization? My son has a new GOPRO, which does, and it works extremely well. The Thinkware M1 does, which works ok, not great, but ok.
Hello John, sorry for the late reply here. Yes, the INNOVV K5 adopts image stabilization for better video quality. π We would share more origional videos recorded by INNOVV K5 on this forum later.
Do you have a video sample of the 4K 30 frames compared to the 2k 60 frames? What would you expect to see as a difference?
Please kindly check the video footages by INNOVV K5's front camera of 4K 30 frames via here and 2K 60 frames via here.
@INNOVV MotoCam
Did you accidentally uploaded the wrong videos? They are both 1080p at 60fps and 30fps.
Btw.
How did you get the 1080p@60fps?
The front cam offers 1080p only 96fps, while the rear cam offers 1080p only at 30fps.
@Frostie Apologize for any inconvenience that has caused. We are sorry that we have made some mistakes when uploading the the videos. Please kindly check the correct one in the revised version.
Thank you for the video's, but there must be some sort of problem. The quality is no better than your competitors 1080p. Are you sure these are the correct samples?

@INNOVV MotoCam
Sorry, but the 2K@60 fps is still missing. Both links are the same and showing the 4K@30 video.
@Frostie Sorry for that. Please kindly check the 2K@60 fps video from here.
That link is only 720p. I would like to see 2K@60 fps. I have a 4k screen and really would like to see good examples of 4K@30 fps and 2K@60 fps.
Hello John, sorry for any misunderstanding that may cause.
We are sorry to inform you that the video uploaded on Dropbox will be compressed and you could not check the origional video online. Please kindly download the original video from Dropbox link above to check the 2K@60 fps video. May you have any other question, please feel free to contact us.
In the Webbikeworld review, which was very good, the reviewer indicated he liked the 2K@60 fps better than the 4K@30 fps option. However none of the samples that I can find, which I can download from dropbox, are in 2K@60 fps. I'm thinking the 60 fps would give a clearer picture with less blur and fewer artifacts when the speeds are higher.
Two posting above, Innovv linked two videos with 4K@30 and 2K@60, but both are within city limits.
I uploaded a video in 4K@30 at higher speed (160 km/h) to my dropbox. There is a blur effect due to vibrations, but I did not experience any artifacts. And the K5 was not mounted on the best position when it is about vibrations.
You can check the video here

I have looked at that one. I did notice the blur and was thinking it might be vibration. Any thoughts on doing a comparison video at 2K@60? The reviewer at Webbikeworld likes it better and I'm curious what he was seeing. At slow speeds I would not expect a difference, but high speed maybe.
@John R. E. Wilson
Any thoughts on doing a comparison video at 2K@60?
I would do, but I had a surgery on my right hand some weeks ago, so I am currently unable to ride my bike. Maybe in 4 weeks or so.
Anyway, I don't not expect that the 60fps will help against vibrations. The blur may be reduced when speaking of slow motion or screenshots, but when viewing, the video will still look blurry, as the video is still vibrating and your eyes don't have 60 FPS :-)
@Frostie Thank you and get well soon.
