I just installed the K5 onto my motorcycle and tested the connection several times while installing it. Just as I buttoned up the installation the K5 stopped turning on when I power on the motorcycle.
I checked the power brick and I see a blue light
I checked to see if there was power on the cable and I see 5.04v
I was able to start the camera with USB and everything works
With a USB Battery plugged in and I start the motorcycle the camera turns off
My guess is it has to do with the switched power line but was wondering if there is a way to disable that?
Thanks,
Kevin
hi Hans, thanks for the response.
I fixed this but and there were 2 issues.
i had this hooked up to a canbus adapter and didn’t set the correct option. Even though I had it set to accessory it didn’t send power to the accessory wire. When turning on the ignition the camera can takes up to 10 seconds for the camera lights on the remote to start blinking.
When you turn on the ignition, do you have power on the yellow wire? And if there is power present on the yellow wire, can you measure how many volts?
If you apply a good voltage to the yellow wire, for example by connecting it to the red wire, the K5 switch on?
