Due to the installation it is not practical for me to remove the SD card to get the files. I would prefer not to download them to my phone, because I want them on my laptop! So, I tried a couple of things to skip one slow step:
- I have a MacBook Air with the new M1 chip, and this laptop runs iOS apps. So I installed the Innovv app, connected the camera and downloaded the files. The process went fine, after a reasonably long wait the app reported ok. But I cannot find the files? They are not in the download folder, and they do not show up in Finder search. Any Apple savvy people here who knows where they might be? (Have looked for them in library.)
- Next was to use my browser to access the files direct (http://192.168.1.254). Success, it seemed – quick and easy download! (This looks like a feasible way to load up new firmware files as well, while waiting for this function to be integrated in the app.) However, the files cannot be played back on the Mac! The files in the camera are ok, I can play them in the app. Lacking container? (Nothing on codec, color profile or length in the file info.) Any tips? (Have tried to view the files in QuickTime, Dashboard Viewer, Handbrake, MK Player, VLC, and even GoPro Quick.)
- An interesting observation: The front (4K) file is 1.38GB, the rear (1080p) is 1.12GB? I would have expected the front footage to be 4 x the file size of the rear footage. Is it the HEVC/H.265 codec that is this effective?
