I have indeed read this Topic but was not sure if anything might have changed in the meantime. It is abit frustrating because i installed the K5 in a way that makes removing the card a little pain in the a**. As a trip takes a few hours that leads to multiple files and i would have loved to connect to the innovv via my network and not a single machine. I have the bike parked in my garage with a battery tender at hand so time is not an issue. Also if you have to change the card during a trip it will be necessary to bring additional tools but i think that is a price you have to pay for good footage. Fixed install has its drawbacks but the benefits weigh heavier.
With the K2 it is possible to let it temporarily join the home wlan. This can be done by using some undocumented http commands. Or permanently by altering the firmware (I already did this). But with the K5, the http commands do not work. At least with the early firmware I used during my tests. Officially, there is no way to make the K5 join a wifi network.
The only way I can think of how you could access the K5 from your home wlan is by using a gateway. For example a Raspberry with two wifi adapters. One joins the K5 wifi, while the other joins your home wifi. With routing enabled on the Raspberry (and proper IP configuration) you could access the web interface of the K5 and download the files directly to your pc. But of course that requires knowledge about how to configure the Raspberry.
And the maximum speed will still be around 12 mb/sec, even at 5GHz, as this is the maximum speed the chipset can handle.
@Frostie thank you. That sounds quite simple. I got a Pi4 left from customizing my 3d printer. I'm looking forward to try it. On the other hand one of my notebooks could work too if i configure the network correctly. 12 mb/sec is really quite slow but a challenge nonetheless. In the meantime i will try to build a better mount for the headunit so i can remove it without fuzz. We'll see wich solution is finished first ;)

Unfortunately, it's not the fastest way to get your videos.
Reading the SD card in your computer is still the fastest way.
