I've just finished up installing a Innovv K3 that was purchased from an Ebay seller about 6 months ago.
While initially it seemed to be working ok when i bench tested it, and when first installed it on the bike when it wasn't running (rebuilding carbs). When the bike motor is running it either reliably doesn't record video or will only record when the bike engine is turned off but the key is on. I managed to capture this video from the front camera on a ride but only recorded when the bike was stationary. No video of the bike driving is captured.
Would some ferrites on the camera inputs and other connections be in order to remedy this?
If so, do they go closer to the control unit or the camara.
Thanks
Update: I retightened all the plug connections checked the battery connections (they were tight) and you guys were right on, that was the issue. I think i actually had more than one loose barrel connector. A test video of it idling recorded both front and back without issue. However i'd like to get out on the road to really test it. Thanks!
Judging from the image artifact in the video and the fact that the K3 does not record when the engine is running, I would assume there is a bad grounding at the cam.
As Hans already suggested, please check that all plug connects are properly secured. A loose connection can cause strange issues (I found this out myself the hard way. See here)
What happens if you disconnect the power supply and run the K3 with the help of a power bank while the engine is running.
Also check the wiring of the K3 to see if it is not connected anywhere (parallel) to the wiring of your ignition.
Did you connect the red and black wire directly to your battery?
Also check that all plug connections are properly secured.
I don't think you can solve this problem with ferrites.
