I turned the ignition on today, on my Honda with K3 fitted. Chatted for a few minutes then started the engine and rode off. I checked the footage when I got home and found that it stopped recording after 1.5 minutes, before i started the engine, only to resart after I'd filled up with fuel. I had ridden for about 10 minutes before stopping for fuel.
Does the K3 do this, time out, or register a drop in voltage, to only restart after the ignition has been turned off and on again?
Thanks
Dan
If the battery voltage becomes too low, the blue LED on the power module will go out. The K3 will then still function, only the parking mode will then no longer be possible.
However, if the battery voltage really gets too low, the K3 will switch off completely. Your battery voltage is then lower than 9 volts (according to the manual of the K3).
It is also possible that the switched voltage to which you have connected the yellow wire becomes voltage-free after 1.5 minutes if you do switch on the ignition but do not start the motorcycle. This is a battery protection built into many motorcycles.
So there are several possibilities that could cause your 'problem'.
Dear Dan,
this may caused because of your motor bike's battery protection if you turn on the bike but you do not start the engine for a certain time.
