Hi all!
My K3 package just arrived and before starting the installation I need to decide which is the correct connection for the DC converter.
I have seen some video's that shows red and black wires directly to battery and yellow to Cansmart named as accessory with 1amp "fuse" through the program from Denali.
But also I have seen, all 3 cables from DC converter directly to Cansmart with the proper connector and with 2amp "fuse" through the program from Denali.
So, which is the correct or recommended connection?

Thank you!

Hi Frostie,
thanks for the reply.
This is exactly what I mean...but I can live with it.
Hi akiriazis,
Now that I'm using K3 for about 15 days I noticed that the sound it's not stable. Is it a known issue?
Well...I don't know whether Innovv rates this as an issue or not, but this behaviour is (at least to me) well known. The K2 has the same problem and I think it is due to the gain control. In its effort to maintain a steady volume, the gain control seems to overreact on some frequencies of the engine/exhaust and throttles down the volume way too far.
This video was recorded using an older firmware, but the behaviour hasn't changed till now. At 0:28 you can hear that the K3 throttles down the volume and I think this is what you mean by "not stable".
Sadly, there is no way to change the gain settings for customers, except my modifying the firmware.
Just for the record...
The problem were the front camera which causes all the malfunctions.
Replaced by Innovv China and the system working great!
Now that I'm using K3 for about 15 days I noticed that the sound it's not stable.

I used to have the microphone under the seat but yesterday I placed it at the rear closed to the exhaust, but there is no difference.
After 40sec it seems that closing the into...a bottle.
I spend this afternoon making all the possible combinations that you mentioned, but the conclusion is the same. F-Port is working only with one camera, Rear. R-Port is not working at all, same with Front camera.
Ok. Based your tests and results, I am quite certain that your front cam is faulty.
...so I found a shop with very good reviews from France https://www.lacameraembarquee.fr/ I have sent them a message with the issue and waiting for their answer. Do you think that I have to send also at innovv.com?
Your first contact is always the reseller where you bought the K3. Only if they are not able to help you, you should contact innovv.com.
But the FW were 1.1.04 and not 1.1.06 which I downloaded twice from global, I don't know if it is the same...
I never checked what version number the 06 firmware shows in the app. May be Innovv labeled if the wrong way and the correct name should be 04. Anyway. Don't get yourself confused about it. The firmware from the Innovv.com website is the latest.
@ Frostie you mentioned some other steps that you have in mind, please let me know.
You already figured out the first step yourself by only connecting one camera to the F Port, as this is the port where the K3 at least needs a camera to start up.
Your K3 starts up with the rear cam connected to the F-Port. This means that a) the rear cam is ok and b) the F-Port is ok. Now we need to figure out the status of the front cam and the R-Port. So next step would be to connect only the front cam to the F-Port. If the K3 starts up (Wifi accessible), then it is very likely that the R-Port (e.g cable or plug) is damaged. If the K3 does not start up, then it is very likely that the front cam is faulty.
You wrote that, for a short period, you saw the video of both cams, but the wifi failed again. As you connected F-F and R-R , this could also indicate a broken cable or loose connection on the front cam. As soon as the front cam lost connection, the K3 rebooted to find the missing camera. So for a test you could connect...
Rear cam => F-Port
Front cam => R-Port
...and the twist the cable of the front cam a little bit to see if something changes.
Where did you buy your K3? Local reseller or directly at innovv.com?
Ok this K3 is getting me crazy!
I re-flashed the latest fw 1.06 but I don't get wifi led and signal to connect.
I tried twice and I saw that the flashing procedure started because the green light flickered rapidly 2 times.
Then I disconnect one camera and suddenly wifi led started to flashing! I connected with innovv app and I saw that F from dvr were connected with rear camera and I had video of course form the rear. But the FW were 1.1.04
and not 1.1.06 which I downloaded twice from global, I don't know if it is the same...
When I connect back the front camera to rear exit at dvr, lost connection and wifi light went off.
I swapped the connections rear from dvr to rear camera and front from dvr to front camera, but no wifi again.
Then I download and flashed the fw from the UK site 1.03
which is exactly the same V1.03
of course to establish connection with the wifi I had the same combination mentioned before. Only from the front exit of dvr to rear camera.
I swapped the cables properly, R-R and F-F and somehow I had video from both cameras...but for a little time. The connection with the app were lost and I had this message
I tried again to connect at innovv wifi but I had the message that couldn't get DNS and all led lights at the remote were stable light, like everything were frozen!
I tried once again rebooting the unit with the only combination that starts to work, front exit from dvr to rear camera only and I had wifi connected.
Then I tried to change view from the app to see rear camera or F/R or R/F but I had the same picture.
and after that I give up for tonight!
I can't get to a conclusion yet, if I'm doing something wrong, or there is something with the fw, or a defected unit.
@ Frostie you mentioned some other steps that you have in mind, please let me know.
Hi, Frostie, thanks for your reply.
I'll try tonight to re-flash the 1.06 firmware to see what will happen.
I have to do it at the bike because the cable of the remote control is short and the connection is under the rack between the two seats...
Let's hope with the re-flashing will fix the issue.
I'll get back soon.
Well today I spend all day for the installation and strip my GSA but finally I couldn't get the K3 system to work.
I tried both ways mentioned above but without any luck. At both ways the blue indicator light stays on at the convert and I have done all the proper settings at the cansmart.
When I switch on the ignition the video light getting green the gps flashing orange but wifi doesn't turn on at all! After a while both video and gps lights on the remote turned off.
I took the sd card to my pc and of course there is nothing inside.
I suspect that is something wrong with the firmware update that I have done last week, when I check the unit with a a/c power adaptor and micro usb just to be sure that all working good.
So, why are different versions of latest firmware?
Here says 1.06 https://www.innovv.com/downloads
and here says 1.03 https://innovv.co.uk/support/k3-motorcycle-camera-technical-support/
Which should I re-flash?
This is a clear answer, thank you!
I don't think that I'm going to use parking mode, so I'll go with all three wires to Denali cansmart.
Both methods are somehow correct. Connecting the red/black wires to the battery and only the yellow wire to the Denali gives you full functionality of the K3 in regards of the parking mode.
If you don't need the parking mode, then connecting all three wires to the Denali would be the easiest way, But parking mode would not be possible anymore.
