Hi, I connected my K3 to the cansmart and set the amp rating to 2A as all the videos say. However, when I went out to check it this morning, nothing. I looked at the cansmart and it had a solid red light. I connected up to the cansmart and saw that the accessory circuit I configured was overloaded. I ended up increasing the amp setting to 4 amps. Everything is working as it should now. I have a 22 BMW GSA. The K3 is the only thing on the cansmart. Any reason this would happen? TIA.

Thanks for the response. I changed it to 3 amps and everything is working fine.

The K3 takes up to 1,5A at boot time. So normally a fuse setting of 2A should do the job. The problem are the capacitors within the power module. When they are empty, they charge up as soon as the power module is connected to power (in your case...when the cansmart powers up the circuit). At that short moment (only some miliseconds), the power modules takes more than 2A. A normal 2A fuse would not blow, but the cansmart is way more (too) sensitive than a normal fuse and shuts off the circuit.
There are two solutions
Solution 1)
Increase the fuse settings to 4A (what you already did).
Solution 2)
Put a resistor in the red line between the power module and the cansmart to limit the Amps when the capacitors in the power module charges up.
