Just arrived back from a long 5 day trip and very happy with K3 Performance. I am using the latest paid version of Dashcam Viewer to view footage and export the embedded GPS files to use in visualisation programs like "relive". I'm very happy with the K3 GPS logging. Below are small shots of various export formats I'm testing. I've spent quite a while looking but I cant seem to find the altitude logging in any of them. Does the K3 log altitude? Its not overly important but need to know if there is something I need to enable or stop looking. I'm recording in TS format. The below all work perfectly in visualisation programs but Altitude is missing and would be nice for Relive.

Could somebody from Innovv please answer. Is there a way to log altitude yet? I'm currently running a secondary android app so I can upload into Relive but it would be much easier to have it in the K3 or K5 logs. Im willing to test if that helps.
Has a firmware update been written for the K3 or K5 where it records altitude? I have just bought another bike and want to know if this has been addressed.
Steven Hu, @ Innovv
Could I please get an update on the Altitude status?
Thank you.
Come on guys, When will altitude be available? You make the most awesome dash cam system with gps logging but didn't include altitude. I'm currently running a separate GPS logger for a feature that is included in every other brand. I'm willing to work with you as it is a very much needed feature.
ok. Is it only software/firmware related and not hardware as K3 displays X, Y & Z ? I am happy to be involved in beta tests if this helps. Would be good to have this feature for visualizations'.
Hello Jeff, sorry our K3 system can not provide altitude information now. I will send your suggestion to our engineer and we will try to add this function in next new product.
Altitude accuracy has come a long way in a short time. My cheap push bike unit is reasonably V accurate to about 5m, Horizontal to about 2m. The K3 has exceptionally good accuracy. The log files look like the data allocated area is present but just blank. I have seen a few custom firmware's offered in other K3 posts fixing other issues. Is there someone in Innovv who may know about this feature or have a beta version? Without it I am unable to use some of the advanced features of visualization apps. This K3 is by far the best unit I have ever owned but altitude logging would make it bestest better :), Below is mine verse someone elses. Id be happy with an altitude accuracy to 10m so this shouldn't be too hard I would think.
I can't quickly find how the altitude is processed in the GPS data. What I do know is that altitude for a standard GPS usually has a large deviation. Horizontal measurements are easy to do, vertical is more difficult.
If you want to do a good altitude measurement cheaply, use a logger based on air pressure.
