My k3 audio has had this issue since purchase.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTgvqKQwv3A&ab_channel=JordanCran You can hear in the first few seconds, the engine is audible at first but as RPM increases it just fades out. And again at the end of the video, after I stop and stall, the sound comes back. Once I start the engine and add power, the sound fades out. For this video the microphone was under the seat.
I've tried mounting it in/on: Handlebar Frame (various locations) Under instrument panel (completely shielded from wind) Under the seat
I've tried setting the microphone setting both at 0% and 100% (that seems to make no difference that I can tell?) And it sounds fine, until I add power, and then the sound fades out - I feel like it is wind reduction or something similar, despite the only sound being the engine. Some more examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM76ikNxogw&ab_channel=JordanCran An insta360 One X2 which despite having some annoying wind noise the engine is clearly audible and never gets "ducked": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMxm9DD8nsU&ab_channel=JordanCran
I'd love to get this fixed. I'm a software engineer and have noticed a few other issues with the firmware (for example the g sensor being far too sensitive even on the lowest setting) that I'd like to try and fix. Not sure if Innov would go for this but I'd be willing to sign an NDA and work on the firmware.
I checked some more videos. But the K5 is less affected by this in my opinion. If it is purely software, then Innovv should have a solution for the K3. Unless the firmware of the K5 is really very different from the K3.
Hi,
I know this fade-out effect from the K3. And the K2 as well.

I suppose that this effect has something to do with the audio gain settings of the K3.
Unfortunately the gain settings are not accessible over the app, means that any changes require a firmware modification.
The K3 has some kind of automatic gain control for the volume. So despite the recording level you set, the K3 still regulates the recording level itself.
