A few years ago right before I left on a trip my phone app auto-updated and lead to hours/possibly days of misery trying to update the K2 dvr to match. Ever since then, even when changing phones I haven't let my phone auto-update solely to avoid dealing with updating my K2 again. Until now. I finally let the phone update and here I am again ready to throw this unit in the road.
OK, I formatted the card in the unit through my phone app. Then I loaded the sd card into an adapter and inserted it into my PC. Then I went to the site, downloaded the bin file directly to my desktop and transferred it to the sd card. I don't know what a "fat32" file is so I just copied the K2.bin file to the sd card as is. Not into the innovv folder but into the SD card root next to the innovv folder.
Then I returned the SD card to the DVR and powered it up. And it's still using the old firmware. But the bin file seems to be gone from the SD card?
What did I do wrong? Besides letting my damn phone update.
My PC says the SD cards file system is exFAT. I've thrown away most of my Father's Day with this. Gonna try one more time tonight. Nope, formatted it again, videos were all lost anyway. Downloaded the firmware for maybe the 10th time, copied it to the SD card, installed it and turned on the bike. Still says it's using the old firmware ending in 57. Will go apologize to my wife (if she's still awake) for wasting the entire day on this and try again after work tomorrow or the next day. This is a great, trouble free product until a phone update forces a firmware update. Then it's horrible. Please help.
You stepped in the ExFat trap, which came with the V0.5x firmwares.
In these firmwares, Innovv introduced the ExFat filesystem to (i guess) solve the usb problem. Means...if your sd card is bigger than 32GB, the K2 will format it in ExFat.
So far, so good and everything works fine.
But the bootloader, which is responsible to install a new firmware, cannot read an ExFat formatted sd card. So now, when you copy the K2.bin on your card and put it into the K2, the following happens.
The booloader starts and tries to check whether there is an update or not
The bootloader realizes it cannot read the sd card, abort the check and continues do a normal start of the K2.
The normal boot process starts and checks whether there is an old firmware file (left over from an upate) or not. As there is an K2.bin, it deletes the file and continues booting.
To do an update, you need a sd card which is formatted in FAT32, so the bootloader can read it. The easiest way is to use a smaller card (32 GB or less), format the card in the K2 (using the App) and then use this card for the update.
If you don't have a smaller card, you have to format your card in FAT32 on your pc.
After the update, put back your old sd card and format it using the app, too. That's because ExFat was removed from V0.6x (due to the problems you stepped in) and the new firmwares do have problems working with ExFat formatted cards.
Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the K2 firmware update issue.
Are you sure that you have updated it using SD in the EXFAT format?
If you are not sure about this, please refer to the following instructions.
The steps to update the firmware are attached below:
1. Find a link to the firmware version that needs to be updated from the website 2. Click the link to download it to your computer 3. Copy the bin file to an SD card in FAT32 format 4. The file name must be K2.bin and there can be no other names such as (1) or (2) 5. The firmware is automatically updated when the SD card is plugged into the DVR and powered on
Click on the video below to see how the LED on the DVR flashes during firmware updates.

The INNOVV APP will not connect via WIFI (Continuous blue WIFI Icon flashing) after iPhone 7, update 13.5.1.
Background:
I have had the Innovv K2 for just over 1 year. Initially, the cameras live mode viewed though my iPhone to include the APP connectivity- worked fine.
About a month ago, the infamous power drain from having an old INNOVV DVR power converter struck. I replaced the converter, after purchasing the updated converter with the blue 'L.E.D." from the overseas INNOVV support. This solved the power drain so far, but not the INNOVV APP connectivity issue.
The latest update to the DVR was installed for my IOS in FAT32 on a 32gb and 8gb card. The DVR did its light show as depicted on the support link for updating the latest firmware.
Recording audio/video work fine, and has been confirmed. The green colored video icon flashes on video, solid orange colored icon is illuminated on GPS... I can not confirm the GPS via DASHCAM viewer APP on my MACBOOK IOS version 10.15.5, because the program does not see the video files??? [HELP] (Separate issue I know).
And, I get a continuous "BLUE" colored WIFI flashing icon.
The WIFI, fails to connect to my IPHONE and just intermittently flashes, and never remains solid: I have tried using AIRPLANE mode, phone is held close to DVR whilst attempting to connect, I've used IPADS running the INNOVV APP with no success of the INNOVV APP connectivity.
I presently can not obviously connect to the INNOVV APP to adjust any settings, nor view live video feed from my cellphone.
Currently using I am using my iPhone 7 IOS version 13.5.1
Any help or guidance is appreciated!

Have you updated the latest firmware version V0.70 yet?
If K2 starts to fail due to firmware updates, I recommend that you drop the firmware version back to the previous one.
The update method is still the same.
Using FAT32 I have used a 32, 8 and 4GB card to flash V0.70 to the DVR with no success (I am using a MACPRO, I don't have access to a Windows PC).
The cameras record (verified) and the GPS icon is a solid orange color. Again, the DVR WIFI flashes blue and will not illuminate solid nor connect to my IPHONE 7. I have tried to connect to my IPHONE 11 Pro, and there is no WIFI to DVR connection.
Although skeptical, as INNOVV suggested, I dropped "the firmware version back to the previous one," (V0.64 did flash to the DVR) this did nothing to allow me to connect to my IPHONE INNOVV APP via WIFI.
The WIFI settings on my IPHONE show a back and forth attempt at communication to the DVR but unfortunately, there is no solid blue icon nor connection, and the INNOVV APP displays- failed to connect.
There is apparently an issue, with either, the compatibility between the INNOVV APP/DVR to updated IPHONE users or my DVR is the issue.
My DVR S/N is: INNOK2018120383
Again, I recently discovered the WIFI issue after the "POWER DRAIN," occurred to my bike, after about 1 year of ownership. Since the inception of my purchase of the K2, my IPHONE has obviously been updated to function properly in accordance with the IOS software needs.
So, I can see 1 remedy is sending the DVR in to the U.S INNOVV support in Florida.
This choice leaves me without the peace of mind of my Dashcam, as I ride year round. I am sent a new DVR, which will probably work fine, what guarantee do I have on its longevity, about 1 year of use? I purchased the INNOVV K2 as a alternative set/forget reliable camera system, because I was buying SENA action camera batteries every year...
Our staff has also updated iOS13.5.1 and the K2 connection is working fine.
Have you determined that the SD card format is FAT32?
You need to store the bin file on the SD card with the name k2.bin only, not any other name.

You can see how the DVR lights flashing when the firmware upgrade.
APP and iPhone compatibility has been good for a long time, and the reason you can't connect is most likely due to a failed firmware update.
You can try to update the firmware again, uninstall the original APP and download the new one.
If the same result occurs after you have done the above steps, please let us know and I have reported the new problem to our engineers.
The same result has occurred...as detailed in my previous above posts...I will submit photos and videos to assist as best I can with this issue asap.
K2.BIN (the . BIN is not possible for a name in the formatting)
(FAT 32 is used)
(A 8GB card is used, yes I tried various others including a 32 GB see my posts).
The file needs to be named "K2.bin", not the filesystem of the sd card.
Thank you @ Frostie, I see the name of the SD cards filesystem is irrelevant in this matter, as the DVR- does flash apparently, as depicted by light flashes which mirror the INNOVV video. The latest available firmware file I am using is named "K2.bin," and is directly dowloaded from the INNOVV dropbox link.
However in my case, again, there is no change in the user compatibility with the APP and my iPhone 7, iPhone 11 Pro Max, IPADS etc.
Firmware version 7 "Flashes," the DVR but no change to application compatibility
WIFI attempts communication with iPhone 7 but fails
Airplane mode is tried, but fails to connect.
So, I have concluded as per my previous posts the connection issue could likely be the DVR. I believe I have tried all the suggestions in the forum and DETAILED my trials...please review my previous posts in detail before sending me down the same rabbit hole.
A freshly formatted FAT32 SD CARD was used after the UPDATE.
Thank you for any help!
According to the LED, the flashing process was successfull.
Unfortunately I can not tell why your iPhone is not able to connect to the K2 wifi.
I use an older iPhone SE running 13.5.1 and have no problems connecting.
You can try to tell the iPhone to ignore this network to delete saved wifi passwords. Maybe there is (for some reason) a wrong password saved for the connection.
Yes, you can try what Frostie said.
Right now, the K2 has the wifi signal, but you're not connected.
I have deleted my home WIFI network connection so that the only communication will be with the INNOVV APP and DVR, this did not help the connection. I have reinstalled the INNOVV app on my phones, to include install the APP on other devices such as IPADS, this did not help the connection APP/DVR.
Each time the INNOVV APP is reinstalled/installed, your password is required to join the network, so no, there is not simply a wrong password unfortunately because, the INNOVV APP accepts my password.
So, as I concluded in my above post, dated Jun. 28th, I believe the issue is my DVR.
And now, since the DVR is just slightly owned over 1 year, what support will I receive from INNOVV? What expectations or guarantee should I have in regards to the longevity of the product? Will I be purchasing a new DVR yearly?
Thank you all for the input and assistance thus far...
I am a little bit confused now. The App, at least the one on my iPhone, does not ask for a password. The password is only neccessary when connecting (the first time) to the K2 wifi. So when you say that the App is accepting your password, what do you mean with that?
I looked at your videos, especially Video 6 and 7, and yes...your iPhone does not connect to the K2 wifi. This can be due to a wrong password, but also due to other settings. So can you please make a screenshot of the settings for the K2 wifi (pushing the blue i beside the wifi name).
Within this settings, there is also the "Ignore this network" option. Did you use that to delete/forget the K2 wifi to make a new connection?
So, what I am trying to convey is- that simply, I have completely deleted the INNOVV APPLICATION, the INNOVV WIFI CONNECTION, and reinstalled everything fresh; at which point I reentered my password which was verified and accepted by the INNOVV WIFI connection, in order to join.
At no point in time, have I manipulated any other WIFI settings within the INNOVV WIFI access point, and so, for this reason- after the trials of the above, I have concluded the DVR to be the issue.
Even with the firmware update, the DVR is still in an abnormal working state.
We have two guesses. We need you to test them again.
First, as Frostie says, you can connect to your DVR using a USB power source instead of a converter. If the DVR works in this case, then there is something wrong with the converter.
Second, you can unplug the Rear Lens, f Port with a lens to see if the DVR works through the converter power, and then put the R Lens into f port to see the situation.
Until your phone is updated to 13.5.1, everything is connected properly, right? We think there may be an incompatibility between the 13.5.1 system and the V0.70 firmware version. If it is convenient, you can try to return the firmware to the previous version.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qx28kyypu91dcc1/K2.bin?dl=0 The method is the same, using the SD card of FAT32.
Are you able to test the wifi connection using any other wifi capable device? A laptop or a different smartphone? Just to narrow the cause of the problem.
