I would be interested to hear if there is anyone out there with a K2 that is working as it should be, If all’s well can you confirm firmware version & memory card size you are using please cheers Simon
Just got mine wasn't at first but now ok had a first ride with it 2 days ago to see how it performed, had a chat (email) with innovv and got the problem sorted 🤞it seams to be working fine will find out from tomorrow as back to work, will let you no how it goes 🤞
So far so good. I have had it for 5 months, and one day I felt like it overheated, and then didn't work properly, I think the power commander failed. The supplier sent another commander - and it seemed to be working fine.
Got mine in December 2018. It is the one with the old power module, which drains the battery. Solved this myself by using a timed relay. At first I had some problems with interrupted recordings due to the malformed power connector. But after fixing this, the K2 works as intended.
I have a power drain now so I would also like to no if I have the old power supply or new, I've wire mine directly to the ignition switch so it powers of when I turn bike of
how doI know ifI have the old power module or the newone?
There were three different power modules.
The old one (which has the power drain issue), an updated one (which solved the issue a little bit) and the latest one (which solved the issue and got a blue led).
As far as I know, someone cannot distinguish the two older power modules. They both look the same. You would only see a differences when measuring the power drain. Mine takes 44mAh while the K2 is switched off, so I used a timed relay to cut off power 20sec after ignition is switched off. This gives the K2 time to power down itself, so the last video does not get corrupted.
I've had mine installed for almost a year. I originally received one of the older power supplies, but INNOVV replaced free of charge with a simple e-mail. Like Frostie, I am using a timeout relay to protect against battery drain, although not sure if that would happen with the new power supply (if I removed the relay). I also wired the yellow wire to a separate switch on my dash so I can leave the K2 powered off when desired (typically when I'm working on the bike in the garage and listening to the stereo). I had a few issues in the beginning with viewing the videos with the Dashcam Viewer software, but that worked itself out over time as that software was updated.
The K2 is a big improvement over the BikerCam I was using previously. The only thing that I really dislike is the crappy audio; I wish there was an option to plug in an external microphone. I've disabled the audio because it's pretty much useless.
I did have my own problems updating the firmware, until I came back to this forum and reread all thoe posts. I was using an SD card that was too large. So I took an old card and that's my designated upgrade card. Once the firmware is updated, I switch back to a 128 GB card.
This forum has been a godsend in learning the quirks of the K2. Frostie, in particular, has really offered a ton of helpful info. Sorry to hear you're having issues, but hopefully you can get the kinks worked out and enjoy your videos.

I am on my modified V0.57 firmware.
Hi Frostie how do I know if I have the old power module or the new one? What size memory card are you using thanks Simon

Edit:
I am using a 128 GB SanDisk Extrem V30 card.
@Frostie I am using a 256 it came with the device when I bought it
They replaced it free of charge in the past. Just contact Innovv at tech@innovv.com
