Hooked up my K2 and could not get a wifi signal from the DVR. Very simple to install on my 2011 BMW R1200RT. Its a sleek well made unit. Using iPhone 7 with app.
1. Found out by trail and error the cameras have to be attached in order for wifi to work. You won't get a wifi from DVR without cameras hooked in.
2. Although the DVR connects to my iphone when I use the app it now indicates on the app that the unit is 'unrecognized'. But I am still able to get picture front and back.
3. Firmware may need updating since there is no 'save' function to keep the settings. (i.e. if app is set to only front camera, when restarting unit it appears the app switches back to 'front and back'.)
4. Under the plastic tab on DVR there appears to be a reset button, but this is not listed as such anywhere on instructions.
5. There should be a link on the app for checking to see if current software is up to date.
6. Nothing indicated in literature about best placement of GPS unit. I put mine out on the top of the rear turn signal. But would it still pick up a signal if placed under the seat?
My feedback for consideration to any firmware updates coming down the pipe. Thank you.
1. Found out by trail and error the cameras have to be attached in order for wifi to work. You won't get a wifi from DVR without cameras hooked in.
WiFi only works when the camera system is powered up and working properly.
Camera system only works after cameras attached into DVR.
2. Although the DVR connects to my iphone when I use the app it now indicates on the app that the unit is 'unrecognized'. But I am still able to get picture front and back.
Can you reinstall the App and link to DVR again? What mode of your iPhone?
3. Firmware may need updating since there is no 'save' function to keep the settings. (i.e. if app is set to only front camera, when restarting unit it appears the app switches back to 'front and back'.)
Have noticed this bug, should be fixed on the coming firmware & App update.
4. Under the plastic tab on DVR there appears to be a reset button, but this is not listed as such anywhere on instructions.
You are skilled and detect it. 😀
Will add it on the coming batch.
5. There should be a link on the app for checking to see if current software is up to date.
The App has function to detect the version of software, it will remind to update to the last version of software if software is older.
For sure, will add the checking on below page.
Good suggestion!

GPS unit should be exposure to the sky.
Will be impact to pick up the signal if under seat.
Yes, will have update on the user manual.
And you can find update and further more information from the support page.
1. Okay restarted/reset DVR via app, and now the unit no longer states, 'unrecognized'.
2. Restarting appears to save front camera only whereas before it would not save front camera only.
3. Videos should have narration, and upgrading firmware is not clear how to do it. (i.e. update the memory card using the usb adapter reader or usb cable from computer to DVR?

Good to know.

This problem has been fixed from the new coming firmware, our guys is doing further testing, and will send you the firmware by email.

The drop box link does not exist. What's up with that? Is there updated firmware available for the K2? I have a K1 that worked like a charm, but I was enticed by the WiFi and other features of the K2 but darn, it's not working. Pretty disappointed.
I removed the app and reinstalled, relinked everything, even reset the DVR system. Still have issues connected via Wifi on my Note 8. I haven't tested on other anrdoid devices yet as the Note 8 is what travels with me all the time.
So... it is safe to assume that my Galaxy 8+, which seems to be behaving the same was as Kerry's is also not going to work with the K2 until there is some firmware update?
Version 34 of the firmware (20180814) partially solved the issue with the Samsung Galaxy 8+ but now it the device does not start recording when power is applied. I have the yellow lead connected to a relay connected directly to the battery. Version 28 did power up and record but that version didn't connect to the Galaxy. Is there a setting that I missed in the application?
Thanks. The updated K2 firmware version allowed my Galaxy 8+ to connect. I did need to restart the phone after one connection, hope that's not normal. I will research further and post further findings.
Just a follow up on my post is my Galaxy 8+ needs to be rebooted each time. Being an Android developer myself, that appears to be a buffering issue in the application or memory not being cleared properly when the app closes. Even a force stop doesn't fix the issue so the app must be acquiring resources that aren't being freed when the app closes.
I'm having the same issues. My mechanic installed this and connected to the DVR from his phone, but my Google Pixel 2XL gets these error messages - by the way, the correct spelling is ERROR.
I have gone to the INNOVV site and downloaded the most recent firmware and loaded that to the DVR in the root folder. I observed the rapid flashing camera icon during the software load.
I have removed the app from my phone, I have restarted my phone, I have downloaded the app again to my phone, but I continue to have the same issues.
I tried using my wife's Google Pixel 2 and it connected without any issues at all.
The cameras are working and the DVR is working because I pulled some of the videos off the SD card to watch them. The only issue I have is that MY phone won't connect to it.
So I've updated to the newest firmware and tried again on my Note 8. Still no luck..same issue. Tried it on an old Galaxy S5 I had..worked like a charm. Also works with my ipad. Somewhere there is an issue with compatibility of the wireless signals (in my opinion).
In saying so..what does the wifi on the K2 support. What bands does it operate on?
Hopefully the developer will be able to correct the errors. I think it would be a wise idea to support older versions of Android if possible as I have 9.0 (Pie) in my Galaxy 8+ and version 7.0 (Nougat) in my Galaxy Tab 2 tablet which the app will not install. The Linux core is 4 on all Android versions 7.0 and newer so hopefully there is hope for the application to open up to at least Nougat support. Also the only way my Galaxy 8+ works is if I reboot the phone each time I want to use it. That's not practical so version 34 firmware may still have issues but the application most definitely still has issues.
Brian, my 8+ is 9.0 and works only if I reboot each time. My Galaxy Tab 2 with 7.0 won't install. What version of K2 are you using? I updated to 34 before my 8+ would work.
A suggestion at least from a iPhone user. On iPhone there is under settings an option to 'Reset Network Settings'. When I had trouble connecting with K2 and my phone via wifi I reset the network, and it cleared things up. Is there such an option on these phones?
Ray, I don't think so but I'm not sure I understand the process. Are you saying that you are resetting the network connection between your phone and the K2 WiFi? Is that any different than just turning WiFi off and then back on again?
resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings and VPN settings. As I am not familiar with your phone. However when I ran into similar problems with wifi connection to K2 I reset and it cleared things up. If you shut your wifi on and off it may do the same thing as a reset.
Try going into wifi settings, long-press on the wifi name, and click the 'stay connected' option. Android will try to avoid wifi networks with no internet connection, which is probably causing this issue.
Here you are!

The screen shoots is helpful. Will forward it to the developer.

Have fun on the adventure, and enjoy🌲 🌲 🌲 😉 😉 😉

Thank you for reminder, that happens as App developer's English skill is poor.
@Rock Liu, I'm sure his English skills are much better than my Chinese skills. :-)

Sansung mobile phone is not popular in China since the last battery issue. You may not believe it is not easy to find Note 8 or other new models.
Hope we can get one and the developer can upgrade the code in next week or next two weeks.
The K2 App works with other Samsung modes and the most modes from the rest brands.
To be honest, we are not able to test all modes from those different brands, we tested the most popular modes and it is working.
If some modes do not work, we should find way to fix after hear about it.
Hopefully the developer will be able to correct the errors. "Hope we can get one and the developer can upgrade the code in next week or next two weeks."
I hope it's sooner than that. I leave on Thursday for a two week trip on my bike and I'd like to be able to access the DVR software.
I'm running Android 9.0 if that makes any difference. My wife's Pixel 2 is on 8.1.0.
It appears the issue is with newer phones, at least on the android side..can't speak for apple..im running an older ipad
We tested Google Pixel running on Android 8.1.0 same as your wife's phone without issue.
And the guys now tried to upgrade it to Android 9.0, and try to fix.
Always need to do check on every android upgrading. Apple is far better.
Brian, my 8+ is 9.0 and works only if I reboot each time. My Galaxy Tab 2 with 7.0 won't install. What version of K2 are you using? I updated to 34 before my 8+ would work.

resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings and VPN settings. As I am not familiar with your phone. However when I ran into similar problems with wifi connection to K2 I reset and it cleared things up. If you shut your wifi on and off it may do the same thing as a reset.
@Raymond Wand
Thanks Ray, yes, I've done that multiple times plus did a full restart on the phone itself several times.
Try going into wifi settings, long-press on the wifi name, and click the 'stay connected' option. Android will try to avoid wifi networks with no internet connection, which is probably causing this issue.
Thank you, already did that.
