Hi Everyone :)
I've just received my Innovv K2 system. In the next days I'm going to mount it on my brand new Kawasaki ZX14. As it's a new motorcycle I don't want to break warranty rules. I have phone charger already mounted there, it's powered up when motorcycle starts.
As I can see, Innovv K2 works fine when it's powered via USB connection. I've done that for test using computer USB port.
But is it a good idea to use USB in motorcycle as the main and the only one power source?
To be honest - I hope yes, because in that case the only thing I need, will be USB cable between phone charger and Innovv K2 module.
Thank you for the answers in advance :)
Unfortunately, the answer is NO.
The first reason is, that the K2 would not shut down properly when powered by usb, as it would not know when it has to. Simply switching the K2 off by cutting power on usb will corrupt the current active videos and maybe the file system on your sd card.
The second reason is, that the usb port isn't intended for this usage. It is not waterproof and has no protection against vibration. At best, you will get power issues over the time. At worst, you will break the usb port or its solder points due to vibrations.

I know this concerns. But as long as you don't cut (into) any wires, I see no point where you warranty may break. Simply connect the yellow wire of the K2 to the same point where you connect your phone charger to, as it seems to be connected to switch 12V. Then connect the red and black wire to the battery...and that's it.
