I have a K2, dual camera kit installed on my 2014 Ducati Monster 1200s. Updated to the latest firmware and to be frank and honest, this thing needs a LOT of work.
I have the DVR module mounted under my seat, wired to my battery and the power module connected to a switched power lead do it turns on and off with the bike - Which works perfectly. HOWEVER:
The app is TOTAL CRAP. Buggy doesn't begin to describe it. Wifi works... SOMETIMES... And when it does, I find I have to reconnect my phone to the hotspot over and over and over again.
The live view is garbage too. It hangs the video feed like mad. But records okay... For a few mins anyway.
The DVR will only record for about 10 mins then will stop. The final video is ALWAYS corrupted. This thing puts some video clips in the "Park" folder and others in the correct folder.
Im thinking the DVR module is overheating.
Anyone else experience their DVR overheating? I guess I will be able to know for sure once the weather brakes and cools off. If this works the whole time in the winter then I know it's a heat issue and will have to figure out how to get creative to keep it cooled off.
So far, this is a GREAT "CONCEPT", but it's not very functional.
Hi Douglas,

I would not say it is total crap , but it is buggy and needs fixing/improvment. Innovv is already working on a new app. Let's see if it works better.
I sometimes experience these "need to re-connect" issues, too. I don't know if it is caused by the app, the DVR (by disconnecting the phone) or the phone itself.
Of course this only happens when I am not logging the DVR.

This sounds like the DVR did not shut down gracefully. Please take a look in this thread, as your problem might be the power module.

Does the red/black cable on your power module has open ends or claws?
This thing puts some video clips in the "Park" folder and others in the correct folder.
This is caused by the G-Sensor. It is intended to detect a crash and then save the video in the write protected "parking" folder, but unfortunately it is way too sensitive. This leads to a lot of false positive. Innovv is already working on it. In the latest beta firmware, this issue is already solved.
Till then, simply disable the G-Sensor.

See my comment about the power module.
Im pretty sure either the unit is overheating, or the power module is. The recordings go for about 10 to 15 mins then stop all together. The last video is almost always corrupted and unreadable. Im going to adjust the G-sesor and even disable it as you suggest and try again, but Im almost positive the unit itself is not living up to the specifications advertised.
This is all with the latest .70 firmware loaded.
I checked and I do have the old style power module. The wires come out from above the label. Both of my units are this way. Mine and my wife's bike. I will contact Innovv and see about them sending me a replacement.
The App, when connected to Wifi doesn't show the video very well. Its got extreme (unwatchable) latency in the stream, but the recordings are taking place. At least until the unit heats up and dies. I have it under my Monster's seat with almost no air circulation, but the unit is well away from any existential heat source (engine/exhaust).
Thanks for your input.

I heard this from other users, too. At their phone, streaming runs very sluggish with pauses after every some seconds. But I was not able to reproduce this. On my iPhone SE, live view or streaming runs smooth.
Just as a test...please download a video from the DVR to your phone. Take the time and divide the size of the video by the time. Just to get the data rate of your connection to the DVR.

I mounted my K2 the same way on my Tiger 1200 and never got any issues. But I still use the old power module (the very first one without the blue led).
I am pretty sure that you got the same problem as freespaceimpedance in the other thread and that the power module is the cause of your problem.
You could test it the same way as freespaceimpedance did by powering it via usb while riding. If it does not die while riding, it is the power module.
Thanks for the help Gents!!!
On my wife's bike, the Sandisk memory card just stopped working. I thought her DVR unit must have failed until I got into it tonight. With the memory card inserted into the unit the DVR would not boot at all. Removed, and it came up just fine. I ended up taking the memory card out of my unit and putting it in hers and her's is working just fine now.... Until the cube overheats that is.
I lost my video files from my card as I reformatted it prior to putting it in my wife's DVR. But Im sure the videos that did manage to record were recording as designed. Those that were recorded looked fine when actually watching them on my computer. However I'll want to up the bitrate on the front camera most likely.
I have a Battery tender to USB dongle on the bike already that I use to power my wireless Quadlock mount. I'll put a Micro-usb cable to that and plug the DVR into that to see if that has any impact or keeps the unit running as a test. But I first need to acquire another memory card. I'll do that tomorrow AM and give it a good test as I run errands.
I also relocated my wife's cube further up in her rear fairing so hopefully that will help with it overheating as there is more shade under there and I think a bit more air flow as well...
The last thing is, now my Innovv App isn't working on my unit. I used it to configure my wife's DVR again, and now it wont load the settings page for my DVR. Every time I press the gear icon, the app crashes. But it will show the camera feeds.... I've deleted the app and redownloaded it and same thing happens. Im thinking it's a bug in the unit because there's no memory card. If it keeps doing it after I put a new card in it, Im going to be annoyed to say the least.
BTW, Innovv is going to send me two new power modules once they arrive at their warehouse from the factory. Should be on the way to me here sometime next week.
As a last measure Im going to get some of that shiny heat shielding that they use in engine compartments and stick that to the inside as well as under both of the seats, so maybe that will help keep things a bit cooler in there too. But before I can have the new cubes installed (as I know less than nothing about motorcycle wiring and will have my mechanic do the wiring), I need to wait for my GPS trackers to come in the mail so he can wire those in at the same time.
