Hey All,
Im installing the rear cam on my Ducati Diavel and to my lower left screw of my license plate bracket and custom made fender eliminator. I removed the rear splash guard of the bike for a more aggressive look but the bad in this is that road debris such as smaller rocks kick up and will be hitting this camera.
I have clear wrap on my carbon rear cowl and spoiler to protect for this very same reason. I'm guessing that probably this is going to be my best option to use the same product to protect the camera lens and body. I have no choice for mounting on my bike as placement is limited and also need to place somewhere in this area for the best viewing. It won't by right in the middle of the bike so better as that would be the most common upright position riding with more likeliness to kick up debris. At least moving camera further left won't at least kick up that debris to hit the camera. It will only occur when left cornering. I marked off in red where the camera will be approx. placed.
Let me know if you have any idea for wrapping on the camera and protecting its aluminum body and glass lens from marking which could occur from the tire kicking up debris. If you have an other placement positions as well where you think it will be better protected Id be willing to hear. Ilm not drilling any holes into the bike however.

I would also recommend this stuff to wrap the lens and body. Front cam for sure to protect lens from road debris coming onto you and rear cam for my case.

Here it is mounted. Looks good. Just need to add protective film on the lower camera body and front lens. 1st part of my install process so far.
Without fender, for sure, there is the challenge.
Can you mount the camera to the upside of plate format? that will be better on down side.
