Had my Innovv K2 fitted and since then I have been having difficulty operating my Interphone Tour headset. Could this be related to the wifi output on the K2 ? I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 connected if that helps?
I was wondering if I should disable WIFI on my phone and try that?
This could help. Your phone automatically connects to the K2 wifi when the K2 is on. This leads to your phone sending wifi signals itself to keep the connection alive. And as your phone is probably near your helmet (nearer than the K2) this could interfer with the Interphone. It is worth a try.
If that does not help, you could try is to shield of the wifi signals of the K2. For example by putting some layers of tin foil above the K2. Not very smart, but if it helps...
Looking like the INNOVV K2 is going to cause me lots of issues here and may have to be removed.
My Interphone tour will not take any VOX (voice) telephone commands with the Innovv operational. It says "wifi signal weak" . Whilst the bike is off, my Interphone works as it should. Whilst I have been totally unable to get it to work strangely I did receive a call on Saturday via the Interphone whilst riding which puzzled me.
I put my galaxy S9 in aeroplane mode and tried that, does not connect with anything.
I was wondering if I should disable WIFI on my phone and try that?
Other than that I am back to BMW and probably have to pay for them to remove it.
Thanks Frosty, very helpful. I assume my phone sat nav will not connect to my interphone if my phones in aeroplane mode though. Is the fuse easy to spot on the innovv?
Like you said, if only we could disable the wifi when not required on the innovv.
Is there a way to disable the K2 as I have a european tour in two weeks and the headset is critical.
Sure. Simply pull out the fuse of the power converter.
I have a galaxy S9 and think I have read there may be issues with that too with the K2 somewhere?
Some Smartphones do have problems connecting to the K2 Wifi. In that case you have to enable Air Mode to connect. And there was something about location service. Can't remember. But you can find it here in the forum.
Ok...it is a Bluetooth headset. As Bluetooth and Wifi share the same freqencies, they can interfere each other. So yes...you are right with your assumption that the Wifi of the K2 could be the reason for this.
Unfortunately there is currently no solution for this, as the Wifi of the K2 cannot be switched off.
@Rock Liu
Hi Rock. Here is another reason why you should think about making it possible for the users to switch Wifi on or off.
The C5 can switch off WiFi by pressing the button on DVR, had not heard feedback that customers ever used it. So I only kept one button on DVR when designed K2.
I am thinking about if possible the App to disable the WiFi and WiFi is enabled when motorcycle restarted.
@Rock Liu I disagree, my reasons for wanting wi-fi OFF is the interference with various bike electronics, so I certainly don't want to have to fire up my app just to connect to wi-fi to then disable it before each ride. I want it OFF. How often do I need wif-, rarely, only if I ever want to download a file or to update FW, and to be honest the wifi is so slow I will extract the card away. So in summary the wifi is so problematic I want it OFF by default and to to have to mess around in an app each ride, but instead if I ever want it then I can able it by the unit button. The unit button currently serves to turn the unit on/off, but it already does that on bike power, so its a waste of a button and such better re-purposing to control wifi on/off
@sipaldi
About interference between the K2 and Interphone tour headset, More the idea @Frostie suggest, please do below check,
1. Remove the rear camera from DVR, only front camera to work, and check the interference.
2. Remove the front camera and plug the rear camera to the front port on DVR, check the interference between K2 and interphone.
3. Remove both cameras, and power on DVR, and check the interference.
This is to check if the interference between camera and interphone, not the WiFi.
The K2 has passed EMC testing, but still need to do such check.
Frostie,
Once again I thank you very much. I will try both ideas and let you know.

Feeling very disappointed........

Thank you for your assistance.
If it actually is the cause Frosty, I would probably have to remove the Innovv K2 as the headset is required for my sat nav etc.

Hi frostie, this is my unit. https://www.interphone.com/en-gb/Interphone/Interfoni/INTERPHONE-TOUR/p/INTERPHOTOUR
Thanks
Hi Phil,
do you have a link to your headset, so we can see the technical specs of it?
