It doesn't matter in what orientation you mount the DRV. On my old bike it was mounted horizontally, on my current bike it is mounted vertically. Both works.
The current firmware only allows three sensitivity settings for the G-Sensor, which are all too sensitive. So you should consider damping the DVR a little bit to avoid false positives. The next firmware will offer more settings to allow a better adjustment.
I think it does matter what orientation you mount the DVR. I have mine mounted horizontally. Heads up about tour bikes, I have a 2018 Goldwing. I had to remove K2 from underneath my seat and installed everything into my rear trunk Velcro mounted each device to interior walls. Works better but not perfect
Asked also with a possible future function that records peak acc and side force along with for example GPS data.
Now I see.
Well...that is a question only @INNOVV MotoCam would be able to answer. I don't know if such a feature is planned anyway.
In my eyes a feature like this would require that the user can change the logical orientation in the firmware, so the G-Sensor "knows" which side is facing to the front.
Everything else would be crap.
@Frostie Hello, thank you for your kind explaination here. Per our colleauges, the peak acc and side force could not be captured with the GPS function.
@INNOVV MotoCam
Of course not the GPS, but maybe the G-Sensor. Depends on the type of the used G-Sensor. Or was "GPS" only a typo and you meant G-Sensor?
