Any update? I just installed the new "version 3" power converter that is supposed to have a very low current drain with the bike off. I neglected to take a measurement during the installation. Has anybody measured the current draw with the bike off?
I still wonder what the problem is with the battery drain. Are the empty batteries really due to the Innovv?
I own a one-year-old BMW. This can easily stand still for 3 weeks and simply start without problems. The Innovv K2 is therefore not draining the battery. In those 3 weeks, the alarm of the bike power is also on.
Can't it be that with many (old) bikes the battery is not well maintained? Or that there is already a leakage current in the existing cabling?
Is leakage current ever measured without the Innovv connected?
For now I am not worried about a leakage current of the Innovv K2 ...
Yes, the discharged batteries were the fault of innovv. The units were bench tested for power draw and compared with the capacity of a typical MC battery. The results indicate that the observed behavior is correct and expected.
I have only tried the original version, so i don't know if or how newer devices have been improved. My diode solution has been working perfectly, so it hasn't been a pressing issue for me. Currently my battery drains in about 3-4 weeks.
I am considering purchasing the K2 and kind of glad i ran across this forum. Of particular interest is this battery drain issue. Has this been resolved, or are some of you still having issues? Thanks
I believe the battery drain issue has been resolved if you have the "version 3" power converter (the one with the blue LED). According to Innovv, it only draws 0.8ma with the ignition off. I haven't verified this with my ammeter yet (battery access is a pain). And others have developed external solutions that work regardless of which power converter is being used. A good question to ask is which power converter will you get when you order a K2, and will Innovv replace the power converter if you get a version 1/2?

I guess that's the main question. If you order directly at Innov (China or UK), I am quite sure you will get at latest converter. Or at least the updated one. If you order at any other store, you could get a K2 from stock with the old converter. But Innovv will surely send you a new converter then.
@Rock Liu
Maybe you can give a statement about that here for future customers.
Good afternoon, I have a BMW 1200 LC and I am super tired of having to put battery cables every time I leave the bike for two days without using it, the K2 system drains the battery completely. Could it be that they already have the solution? I've even been thinking about removing it completely from the bike, for long trips it doesn't give me peace of mind to have an accessory that is continually wearing down the battery. @Rock Liu, I have read that they are sending the new system that prevents this, what information do you need for me to send me the new system and not have this drainage problem?
There is a new power module, which takes much less power from the battery. And it stops power drain much earlier (which disables the parking mode then), before a low battery could cause any trouble. In the past, Innovv replaced the old power module (which,I guess you have) by the latest one for free.
Ive read all the previous discussions, comments, etc. and have same battery drain issues. There doesn't seem to be any posts re this issue since 2019. Does that mean everyone but me has received the new and improved unit from innov? Mine is installed on my 2019 R1250GSA BMW since new, but have always had on Battery Tender, so no problem. However, like one of the other guys, I'm planning on extended trips this season off road back country without any charging power. Please advise best options i might have other than all the added electrical stuff mentioned.

Hello Dave, sorry to hear your problem here. May we know more info about your battery drain issues for a better and faster diagnosis of the problem?
Hi Dave,
could you please post a photo of your power module? Does it have a blue LED?
That way I could tell what version it is.
Hi Frostie,
Looks like it's blue.....assuming this is what you meant. Evidently I'm not smart enough to attach pic on this site....but it is BLUE.
Thanks
