Both of my K2 does not get warmer than (guessed) 30°C. Even my test K2, which sometimes runs for 8 or more hours on my desk. If your K2 gets so hot that you can barely touch it, it must be somewhere around 60°C, which is very high.
How did you mount your K2? Some people put the K2 in or at foam to protect them from vibrations. But the bottom of the case is the heatsink for the processor. So it is important to allow some ventilation on the bottom of the K2 to keep the temperatures low.
Thanks for your reply and that is also the conclusion that I have come to and have there fore made some changes to maximice the air flow around the K2 bottom. I have a Honda NC 750S with a big helmet size space where the tank normaly are and the K2 is now hanging so the bagside/bottom is free of contact with anything else and that have helped. Thanks.
