Hello:
I’ve installed the K2 and will be installing the power hub 2 as well. Given that the power hub is switched, would it be appropriate to tis the K2‘s trigger wire (yellow) and the K2s power (red wire) to the same circuit on the power hub? I presume that the K2s trigger wire can not be left hanging with no connection.
thanks for the help!
The red wire is direct to battery, the yellow is to a switched supply from ignition
Understood. However, I will be wiring the K2 to the Innovv Power Hub, which is already a switched supply when installed.
Nevertheless, the red and the yellow cable needs to be connected to different points.
This is, because the yellow cable "tells" the K2 when to power up or shut down.
If you connect both red and yellow to the power hub, it will cut off power to the K2 before it was able to shut down, which will corrupt the last videos.
What you can do is:
Connect yellow wire to switched power (same where you connect the power hub to) and the red wire to the power hub. This way both the power hub and the K2 will recognize the ignition status at the same time and the K2 will get time to shut down. But this may fail if the K2 takes a second more to shut down than the power hub.
Connect red wire to battery and yellow wire to power hub. This way the K2 will get the ignition status by the power hub. But as both the power hub and the K2 has a delay of 10 sec, this would mean the K2 starts 20 sec after ignition is switch on and will shut down 20 sec after igntion is switch off.
So best way would be to connect the K2 to the battery and the yellow wire to switched power.
Thank you very much.
Got a question for you I took my SD card out and done a update put back in unit done all its thing lights flashing restarting but I have a real big problem now. The unit will only stay on for about 30-40 secounds then turns of I try to contact with WiFi to go to settings on phone but it keeps turning of just as it goes to settings on the phone what I can I do as I am getting a bit fed up with problems the unit costs over £350 and it has a lot of isuses thinking of sending back
What happens if yoiu turn on the K2 by pressing to button on top? Does it turn off after 30 sec, too?
Yes it did, but now it's working again found out bike battery was getting low, so this must stop the K2 from working to save power on bike I guess ?
Hi again sorry but I am pulling my hair out now it's doing the same thing I thought it was the battery low on power. I went out for a 2 he ride thinking it was working but it's doing the same thing again 30-40 seconds then turns of even when you use the button to turn it on. It turns on then when I look for the WiFi it then turns of emedeiatly so I can't even go into settings. I un dun all connections checked them and re connected all and tried again with no luck I am so disappointed at mo I just had enough 😔 will look again tomorrow evening as got work, back to the GoPro shame GoPro don't do one think they would sus it out 😳🥴
This all started after flashing the firmware? What version have you flashed and what version was installed prior flashing?
Don't no as it asked for and update so I did it and since then it's gone awall, sorry to bother you with this but me and tech ain't getting on at mo, I got this as I had a really bad accident back in Feb and I wanted the best camera for insurance reasons as well as fun but mainly for insurance as back up for idiots in cars that don't look or see bikers
Just for me to make sure I understand everything correct.
Before doing the update, everything runs fine. No unwanted shutdown.
Now, after updating to (I assume) the latest V0.70 firmware, the K2 shut downs after around 40 sec. Correct?
What's with the videos recorded in that 40 sec? Are they ok or corrupted?
What SD Card do you use (size)?
When you put your sd card in a pc, what filesystem does you pc show the card is formatted in? FAT32 or ExFAT?
If the problem started right after upgrading the K2, I would try to downgrade it to an older version. Unfortunately, Innovv does not provide all version on their pagem but you can use my dropbox, where I saved all original firmware versions.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b5cqpgzwd72nxno/AAAbJPissy6LCaH-tlWmsryja?dl=0
I would start downgrading at V0.64 and, if it does not help, continue till V0.57.
Yes everything was running fine as I arridginaly had probs withe the power system but yes everything was running A ok. It only started to do this after update as the app on my phone asked for an update, it was after this it went awall. I haven't taken as card out yet to see what records if anything ?🥴 But I will do this when I return home from work tomorrow I will let you no then. Is there a factory rest button on system I could use ? And start again, as I love the K2 when it's running it's a piece of mind for me as I don't want to go through what I did back in Feb just getting myself sorted and back on the road, thanks again for responding and giving your time speak tomorrow, o the SD card was bought from innovv when I bought it it's the biggest one they do got from there as I didn't want to waist money on getting the wrong one
I agree with the method which Frosite offers.
You can try to drop the firmware back to the previous version.
https://www.innovv.com/k2-firmware The previous versions can be found on this link.
The SD card which is used for upgrading should be FAT32 format.
Download the firmware into the SD card, the name of the firmware must be K2. bin, can not be followed by such Numbers as (1) (2).
After the SD card is put into the DVR, it is connected to the power again, and the firmware refresh will start automatically.
Thanks I've had quite a few problems with this and for the money you shouldn't have to put up with it I've been pulling my hair out I just want it to work properly not much to ask is it !
