The camera was installed and used to work with no issues. I had an issue with my battery in the bike and had to replace it. I'm not sure when but since then I think the DVR stopped working, hence I have no led light and no indication of power. I tried to check the 3 pins plug and it seems that it delivers the 5V power to the adopter. (didn't check if it's 5, or 5.3)
At that point, I was sure that the DVR was damaged and not working, but today I used the USB port to provide electricity to the DVR and it shows the led lights.
I can't see the wifi network, but I read somewhere that it is expected when using the USB as a power supplier.
My question - is there a difference between the USB and the dedicated plugin terms of power input to the DVR unit?
Should I conclude that I need to replace the power exchanger unit?
any other suggestions or ideas??
Normally, the battery voltage of the motorcycle is 12V, and converter converts 12V to 5V.
USB power supply can be used to check whether the DVR works properly.
Generally speaking, we would recommend using power bank or wall socket as the power supply.
Here you can use the multimeter to test the converter, if the data you get is different from the above, you may need to replace it with a new converter.
Thanks,
As an additional note.
If you power the K2 on USB using a laptop, the K2 may startup in USB Transfer-Mode without starting Wifi and the cameras. To avoid this and start the K2 normally, you can simply use a phone charger (min. 2A) to power the K2 on USB.
So, I've managed to check, and indeed there is an issue with the power the converter is producing.
The battery output is about 13.6
positive + negative => get about 4.6
Negative and ACC => less than 4.
Should I replace the converter?
how can i get one?
thanks,
