had K2 from new in 2019, worked fine for years. on grabbing files from card for yesterday unit had worked for about an hour then stopped. I’ve trawled the web and forum but not found anything to help.
control unit has a blue LED which is always on.
On switching on ignition, DVR lights up with blue, green and red lights on solid. No flashing. The GPS light comes in after a few seconds. If I switch the ignition off the DVR lights go off after about 10 seconds
iphone, iPad, android phone all fail to see the unit on WiFi. all are fairly new and up to date, all been rebooted etc.
all connectors look fine. Any advice for fault finding path appreciated
Does anyone know if support at INNOVV are usually responsive? I’ve sent mail to the support address and left questions on the Facebook page but am not getting response. It seems the emedia has lots of examples of people saying how good the product is, but also lots of examples of lack of support when things go wrong.
Am wondering if I should persevere in getting support or just accept that INNOVV don’t provide a repair service and go seek an alternative system.
Thanks Frostie, I will email that address. Sean
Hi Sean,
My understanding is that if k2.bin is picked up from SD there should be flashing lights as update installed.
That's correct. The red led should flicker rapidly. And after the update is done, the K2.bin should be automatically deleted from the sd card.
My lights are always solid. I‘ve tried with no cameras connected, both connected, front only in front port, rear only in front port. No change. I’ve tried power from external power bank, and from laptop USB, and wall mains socket with USB. No change. I think this DVR needs to go back for repair.
So you already tried all combinations I would try, too. And unfortunately I come to the same conclusion than you...this is a hardware issue and the DVR is dead.
Please tell me there is a repair service and it’s not a bin job.
In another posting some month ago Innovv stated that they do not have any more K2 (parts) in stock. So I am afraid that they will not able to replace the DVR, just because they don't have one. But to be absolutely sure, you should contact Innovv support at cs@innovv.com
I’ve been though all the suggestions and no improvement. DVR won’t read the SD card and WiFi is not visible - tried multiple phones, tablets, laptops. My understanding is that if k2.bin is picked up from SD there should be flashing lights as update installed. My lights are always solid. I‘ve tried with no cameras connected, both connected, front only in front port, rear only in front port. No change. I think this DVR needs to go back for repair. A bit disillusioned, this cost £ 350, plus a few SD cards I didn’t need for fault finding, and it toasted a battery on the bike because I had not realised the current draw will flatten the battery in a week - once I found that out I got in habit of hooking up an Optimate trickle charger even if bike was standing for a day. I’ve only done about 3000-4000 miles with the camera on the bike, that’s about £ 1.0 for every 10 mile, which is pretty much the same cost as the fuel used for life of camera :O. Please tell me there is a repair service and it’s not a bin job.
Connecting the DVR to USB port on PC and Windows device manager recognises it as unknown USB device, VID_0603&PID_8610\7&25aa2865&0&3
don’t know if that helps.
Olay, so I tried all this with new SD card. Formatted FAT32, tried updated k2.bin and also the special log version renamed to K2.bin. Hooked up to power bank, no cameras attached, Same results, DVR comes on with blue, green and red lights solid. no flashing. no WiFi. Nothing written to SD.
is there anywhere DVR’s can be sent for check/repair?
Thanks Frostie,
I removed DVR from bike, hooked up power (cameras, power pack, gps not connected), Pit latest k2.bin on SD but no change. DVR switched on with just blue and green lights solid. I’ll get a new SD card today and try that, as well as your special bin file.

Hi Sean,
The blue WiFi and green camera lights on DVR always come on solid. The red photo light comes on sometimes. The GPS ligh5 does not come on. On switching off ignition, the DVR does not owed down, I have to press the big silver button on DVR to get its lights to go out.
This all sounds like the DVR hangs at startup, but not completely, because it shuts down when holding the silver button pressed for a while. At a complete freeze, this would not work.
There are several possible reasons why the DVR hangs or fails to startup completly.
The firmware got corrupted. Though this is very rare, it can happen that the firmware in the flash memory gets corrupted, which could lead to unpredictable behaviours. So my first step would be re-flashing the latest firmware to see if this solves the problem.
A faulty camera can make the DVR hang when it tries to initialize the cameras. I know of at least one DVR where this happened. The rear cam where faulty and the DVR did not start at all. So my next step would be checking the cameras one by one by connecting them to the F-Port at the DVR.
A faulty power module can also lead to strange behaviours. So just to make sure it is not the power module, I would power the DVR by USB using a simple wall charger with at least 2 Amps.
If all of this do not help, you could install a special firmware which enables a logging feature. Means that the DVR will write its console output (and some other dump files) on the sd card. While the dump files are useless for you/us, the console output is a simple text file anyone could read. If you post it here, may be I can see whats wrong with your DVR. You can find the special firmware (named "K2-V71-with-logging.bin" in my dropbox. Just rename it to "K2.bin" and flash it like a normal firmware.
Does the DVR require GPS to function can anyone tell me?
No, it does not. You can disconnect the GPS with any issues.
if I can get this working again I’m going to have to make a remote something or other to show if unit is functioning,
Someone here in the forum already did this by simply extending the leds to a self made remote monitor. But I can't find his posting on the fly.
A bit more info after more messing. The blue WiFi and green camera lights on DVR always come on solid. The red photo light comes on sometimes. The GPS ligh5 does not come on. On switching off ignition, the DVR does not owed down, I have to press the big silver button on DVR to get its lights to go out.
Lack of GPS light implies no GPS input. Does the DVR require GPS to function can anyone tell me?
if I can get this working again I’m going to have to make a remote something or other to show if unit is functioning, I bought it for monitoring in case of accident, but there’s no way to tell other than usin* the app to see DV4 WiFi is there and then logging in.
