Today I had a crash! I ran into the side of a car turning out from a side road. When I checked out the footage on my K2 I was disappointed to see that it had made 2 front recording files totalling only 1 minute, 6 seconds, (plus the equivalent rear recordings), so it missed the accident which happened about 10 minutes into the trip. When the bike was restarted 30 minutes later, it started recording again, this time recording a total of 7 minutes, 41 seconds over 8 files (7 x 1 minute 1 second and 1 x 34 second) before it stopped, again before the end of the journey. As before the equivalent rear recordings were also present. The Park folder does not contain any of the missing recordings, and I do not have the Incident folder set to operate.
Looking back at earlier files on the SD card, it appears this behaviour has been happening for a little while. Can anyone tell me what is causing this, and how I get to record continuously as it should?
I’ve swapped the DVR to my other bike, but I won’t be able to get out for a check run for a day or two yet. We’re registering the highest temperatures ever recorded in the UK (it’s over 40 deg C today). It’s due to cool down over the next couple of days so I’ll get out as soon as I can and report back then.
I will try an alternative switched live cable. But the trigger wire is connected to the live side of the brake light switch; would that not be live all times that the ignition is switched on? It’s connected to the O/G cable see attached diagram) going to the tail brake lamp switch
As with all the issues I have had over the years with my K2 system. A fresh firmware install and a battery recharge with an initial sd card change always seems to do the trick.
7 x 1 minute 1 second and 1 x 34 second) before it stopped, again before the end of the journey.
Do you use MP4 or TS file format? If you use MP4, was the last video playable on your PC?
As a quick guess, I would say there is something wrong with the power supply or connection.
