I've had my K2 for a couple of weeks and everything looked fine. Today I downloaded a clip to my phone via the app to view the footage. The picture quality is great but the speed displayed is way out. It changes as I speed up but it's way too high and for some reason, half way through the clip the GPS trace goes in a straight line between Bristol and London and back, then carries on along my route.
My GPS module is in the open so GPS reception should be a problem.
I other issue is that all the place names on the map appear to be in Chinese.
Any thoughts.
since my post, I’ve now discovered that the speed displays correctly with Dashcam Viewer but still shows the weird detour to London and back in the blink of an eye.
Please check your GPS module again, make sure it is connected properly.
Dashcam viewer has released the new version, some GPS path display errors have been fixed, here you can download the latest one for trying.
Could you please let me know which map you using for tracking?
If you are using a Google map, the Chinese geographic location should not appear.
Thanks
Thanks for your reply. I was using the default mapping but have changed to Google maps today and that seems to have fixed the Chinese labelling.
I've also reformatted the SD card in ExFat and reload the latest firmware .57 (though it didn't appear to update, presumably because it was already up to date). For whatever reason, my speed on the trip home looks about right, though there's still one clip that shoots off to London and back mid journey. The GPS light on the control unit is solid amber so GPS reception isn't the obvious issue.
@tim.allen thank you for your update Tim.

The latest firmware of K2 is V0.61, you can click the link or download from the official website.
1. download the Bin. file to root of the SD card, make sure it sure have one bin file on the SD card, no bin(1) (2), the name of the file should be K2 bin.
2. inset the SD card to DVR, power on the camera and firmware update accordingly
3. see how the LED lights flashes the update complete
