After the firmware v61 update, I noticed the blue light on the power transformer never goes off - no matter how long the bike is off. Is this normal? What could possibly be powering this other than my battery?
Hi, i have 3 k2’s with converters without the blue light, as i told Dolly, one of them only shuts down after around two hours, also on the same one the app crashes when accessing the setup page, files and live-stream are ok but still testing what the problem Is with the dvr, running on V57
As I am not able know your email address, please send email to Dolly again to mentioned you already discussed with Rock on the forum and would like to have 3 new converters.
Sorry, my mistake, Just double checked with engineers. the blue LED lights when it detects the battery is above 12.7V, and it is available for power supply if parking mode enabled.
It will be off once the battery is less than 12.7V, and the parking mode will be disabled.
The converter can detect the voltage of battery, but be sure, it has very less power consumption (only 0.8mA), no worrying about battery get killed.
Updating K2 firmware should not impact the light of the converter.
For this case, please check if K2 keeps recording after bike was off.
1. If keeps recording, that means the power converter keeps supplying the power to camera, the converter is failed.
2. If does not keep recording, turn on and turn off the bike again, can see the blue light if goes off and the camera can start/stop recording accordingly. If not, the converter is failed.
The converter had been done hours on/off reliability testing, should be reliable. and keen to learn what wrong with this case.
Thanks Rock. The bike was on and off a number of times today, and I road about 30 miles. The system is recording fine on both cams. Each time I turn off the bike, it continues to record for about 1 min., 30 sec., then it stops recording. The blue light has remained on since I last wrote you. It's a brand new system, installed by a BMW Motorrad Master Tech one week ago.
