Hi, I just received my INNOVV K2 and i'm trying it... I connected it to my bike's battery and tried the device.
Wifi connects just fine, my phone detects it.
But then, when I try to see the video or take a photo, I receive this error:

My phone is OnePlus 6 with Android Pie.
I of course tried to reattach the 2 cameras and turn it on again...
Hi Andrea,
Can you please try on other phone? One plug is not common phone, The guys will check.
Hi, I don't have any other phones...
can YOU please try ANY phone with android pie?
can you confirm that it does exist any phone with android pie that can connect?
as a developer maybe you/innovv should buy the pixel phone that is considered the "standard" android with the latest version.
I read elsewhere that the same issue is present with pixel phone and the only thing my phone and pixel have in common is the android version...
i guess your dev team can test also with an emulator...
Please remember if you want to develop an android app you need to test it with the latest android version!
my INNOVV k2 is useless at the moment, I hope everything works, I can't even test it!
I hope a new version of the app will come soon, I want to keep this product but I can't keep it if there is no plan to support android pie...
You are right, we have been working on checking with Google Pixel. the system updating, made some changes that is not compatible with the code from chipset.
App developer and engineer from chipset company are working together on those. it is the priority.
you can see below,
https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBD_zh-CNUS818&q=android+pie+wifi+problems&spell=1&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjMkKytwvvdAhVL6Z8KHTUKCbUQBQgqKAA&biw=1366&bih=626
I believe you can use an android emulator, or try to install a custom mod with android pie on one of the phones you use for testing.
The issue is serious as very soon most of the flagship phones will surely be migrated to android pie
I tried to connect to INNOVV K2 with my wife's phone, oneplus 5t with android 8.1... it did not worked too!!!
I connected red and black cables to battery, yellow not attached.
Phone detected the wifi, I connected to the wifi, but when I launch the app it does not find anything. Please see attachments.
any news?
Thank you for photos, that will be helpful.
Did you see WiFi Led flash after WiFi connected? it should not flash.
The developer has made a simple version for case, with this version, you can connect to phone and review the living recordings.
It should be available tomorrow.
@Rock Liu wifi led blinked when the cam turned on then become fixed on.
Same for the green recording led.
Gps was blinking but I did the test inside a building so I assume it just does not see the GPS satellite.
Wifi led remained fixed on during all the tests.
Thank you for working on the issue and to be so in touch with the community.
Thank you for understanding, and sorry for the trouble. It is our responsibility to get problem fixed.
I would like to double confirm, that the recordings are good when you are riding on the road. Have you checked that?
Base on your message, I suppose if it is hardware problem.
The simple version App for video review is OK, now testing on more phones before release.
Hi, I did not mounted the camera on the bike so far, fearing it does not work and I do big job without needing... I simply attached the black and red cable to the battery and tried the phone connection.
I now attached the sd card on my computer to see if something was recorded but the sd is empty. I believe I attached also the yellow cable to the battery once or twice... you believe something should be recorded or not? The green "video" led was fixed on!
tell me the easiest way to make sure the camera works... attaching it to the motorbike battery without turning the bike on should record something or not? can I attach red and yellow cable to the positive pole and black to the negative and wait for some recording or it will not start in this way?
Hi, I see there is new app on play store... should I also upgrade firmware or I can try it without firmware update? Can I simply attach yellow with red cable to positive battery to make the test? Or yellow can be not attached at all?
Black wire = negativ battery
Red wire = +12V battery
Yellow wire = +12V after ignition.
I'm wonder how it works without connecting a yellow wire?
@Peter i know where the yellow wire goes, but I don't want to mess with my electrical system if i'm not even sure the product works...To attach cables to the battery is easy, to attach a cable in the electrical system (under key) is not so immediate.
@Andrea Z. I understand. Connect Yellow wire to +12V battery :)
Andrea Z, Please read the entire post before attempting.
If you haven't found a solution to your problem try the following.
In Android version 9 "Pie" , find and disable the "Turn on WI-FI Automatically" setting. While you had to enable it with earlier phones, it is now automatically enabled in Android Pie.
First go to "Settings", then "Network & Internet." Select "Wi-Fi", then "Wi-Fi preferences.", then make sure "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" is disabled.
If you have installed a "WI-FI Switcher" type of app, then turn it off or disable it also.
What both of these apps/selections do, if "enabled", is allow the phone to switch from a weak or unstable wi-fi network signal to a stronger wi-fi network / cellular data network to preserve consistent data throughput, so, it may exclusively select the home/work/preferred network instead of the one you really want/need. If either app/selection is on it will switch to the strongest remembered wi-fi signal available, could be your home or work wi-fi network, instead of the INNOVV K2 signal.
The INNOVV's wi-fi signal is designed to be used sitting right on top of it, out where there is little or no signal (out on the road), I do not believe it would be stronger than a home or office router even if you are near the K2 DVR.
Even if you can select the INNOVV wi-fi on your phone, if the phone auto selects or switches to another stronger signal for any reason, then the INNOVV app will not detect the DVR.
The DVR App will not work if connected to any other wi-fi signal except the INNOVV K2, and like computers, phones will only connect to one wi-fi signal at a time, regardless of whether it is a 2.4 or 5ghz signal coming from one or more routers near you, and all App's will be forced to use that connection if they use wi-fi only like the K2 App does.
Also, Check that "location" is turned on, some apps refuse to work without it and will not tell you that it is required if turned off.
I do not have an Android 9 phone or the K2 so, the steps may not be exact and I have nothing to test the preceding steps on, so let me know if this solves your problem or not.... Waren...
As previously stated, turn on the DVR unit by connecting all peripherals and joining the red wire and yellow wire to the positive terminal of the battery and the black wire to the negative terminal....
so, I did more tests.
I even copied a firmware file to the sd card and turned on the unit.
The unit does NOT show the quick led blinking of the firmware upgrade.
Instead it turns on the wifi (I am able to connect) but the app shows the usual messages (cameras not well attached). The two cameras ARE well attached with screws too.
I tried to turn the device on with one camera (putting on right, then on left) and then with the other camera (putting on left then right).
The results are the same.
Is it possible I have a defective unit?
When I opened the box I noticed that one of the two cameras was without the covering plastic on the lens. And every cable was already screwed in place.
Let me know what you think, I can call Amazon, give back this unit and order another.
Do not worry about firmware update yet, it's probably just a step you are missing.
I am sure you are familiar with most of what is in this post.
Make sure you can see the K2 SSID and then connect the phone to that wi-fi signal.
Disable the "WI-FI Assist" setting by going to "Settings", then "Network & Internet." Select "Wi-Fi", then "Wi-Fi preferences.", then make sure "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" is disabled as stated in my previous post and then try to connect the K2 App with the K2 DVR.
If that didn't help, Also try disabling the "Mobile data" by going to "Settings", "Network & Internet", "Data Usage" and setting "Mobile Data" to "off" to see if you can connect the K2 App with the K2 DVR..
Depending on the phones settings "Mobile Data" may prevent the phone from selecting or connecting to a wi-fi signal.
If disabling "Mobile Data" does allow the K2 App to connect to the K2 DVR then we will address that problem later. One problem at a time...
Also, if possible , remove SD Card from K2 and insert into PC. Check card for folders/files and see if they are playable and recent. VLC player may work...
Please let me know the results ( succeed or fail and details) of all these actions. Feedback is the only way I can see if I am helping and going in the right direction or just wandering around lost in the forest...
As for the last part of your post, Only you can decide what you need to do based on time and your views of what you ordered and what you received...Watch some of the INNOVV K2 unboxing / install video reviews on Youtube..... Waren...
Hi, I think I did all these tests... anyway even if my phone can't connect, the camera should start saving video files in these conditions, am I right?
And why the firmware file is not detected in the sd card?
Such things does not mean my camera is not working?
@Rock Liu please advice
VERY GOOD NEWS!
I discovered how to make my phone connect to the cam....
I need to put my phone in airplane mode, then turn on only wifi.
In this way I am able to see the videos and take photos or change settings.
Of course the buttons "forum", "blog" and "uploads" do not work in this way.
I was also able to do a firmware upgrade.
Of course, you have the latest version of the software, haven't you?
@Peter yes, latest version on app and I installed the most recent firmware I found
@Andrea Z.
Glad to see the problem fixed. this is very useful tip, and we are learning indeed.
Very good, When you put my phone in Airplane Mode, your Phone disconnects from cellular networks (Data Mode) and Wi-Fi networks. Bluetooth is also turned off at the same time. In the last few years, the powers that be decided that even with "Airplane Mode" off you could turn Bluetooth and wi-fi back on (low energy systems). Airplane mode disrupts "WI-FI Assist" ( As addressed in earlier post) by disabling or turning off, "Cellular Data" mode. Try turning "Airplane Mode " back off and disabling "WI-FI Assist" and see if it stills works... See earlier post on how to do that...
ok, i wil try
