Have tried unsuccessfully several times to load vo.61 have followed the instructions. At the moment I am running vo.49 and it seems to be working fine. Do I really, really need vo.61??
As Ken says above, I couldn't get the update to load then noticed that it states you need to use a small SD Card <32Gb if think. I used a 8Gb card and it worked straight away.
One principle in information technology is: Never change a running system.
So if your K2 runs fine using V0.49 and you are not missing anything, than keep that version.
The only benefit in upgrading to V0.52 or V0.57 would be that the USB Transfer mode is working with cards bigger than 32GB. But to achive this, they added the new ExFat filesystem, which creates issues when installing firmwares (need to re-format SD Card in FAT32 or max 32GB card).
In V0.61 they removed ExFat (so USB does not work anymore with bigger cards) and renamed the folders. So in my eyes the V0.61 is a step back compared to the V0.57. But I can unterstand that they removed ExFat to avoid further issues when customers without technical knowledge tries to install a firmware.
I personally will stay on the V.057, as I want the USB Transfer. And I have no problem to use a different SD Card for flashing.

This is necessary if you are using V0.52 or V0.57 and using a SD Card bigger than 32GB and formatted the SD Card using the App. In that case the SD Card is formatted in ExFat, which the bootloader cannot read.
But Innovv posted a link to a "guidance file", which seems to be an updated bootloader
I tested it on my spare K2 and since then the bootloader can read ExFat formatted SD Cards. Means I can now install firmwares without re-formatting the SD Card in FAT32 or use a <32GB card.
Many thanks for all that info Frostie, very interesting. Nice to have someone on here with such a good knowledge of the workings of K2. You should be on Innovv's pay roll.
I had the same issue, then I tried a smaller two gig card formattfat 3d it worked after that

Hello Paul,
If the old firmware works well on your DVR, you don't need to update to the latest version.
