So this week, my K2 has destroyed 2 x Sandisk Ultra 256gb cards. When I say destroyed, I mean they are dead - no longer recognised by any device, nor by any disk recovery utility.
That was bad enough, but now my control unit is totally dead. There is permanent and switched 5v power, I have checked with multimeter so that's not the issue.
I've tried every combination of button press I can think of, using power / reset switch etc.
I've tried this with cameras plugged and unplugged.
I've plugged the unit into my PC via the USB port to see if any response.
If anybody has any clues or suggestions I'd very much appreciate it please?
Thanks
I have the same pro I lost 2 x 256 gb cards can not format them on the pc or on the dvr afraid to try one more
Good news. In fact great news and all credit to Innovv.
I spoke to UK distributor today and they are replacing my unit. The investigation confirmed some serious water ingress which not surprisingly has ended up with my unit dead.
I'd really like to call out the exemplary customer service - my unit is out of warranty and I really appreciate the way in which customer comes first.
So thank you.
Hopefully will get it back on Friday and reinstalled.
I hope this positive experience generates many more sales for what is an excellent and unrivalled product.
Hi,
Use program via the link at the end of this post to format any SD card. This is the one recommended by the industry as opposed to either the formatting tools built into Apple OSX or Windows 10. It is also the only one recommended by Blackvue (another premium dash cam manufacturer). I hope it helps? Post back please with results. https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/
Dear Innovv, I've been in email contact with Innovv in the UK. I will forward the emails to the email addresses you mention.
Thanks.
Steve.
I think I’ve lost 3 or 4. Don’t really understand it but I no longer format on a PC. Only in the dvr.
Thanks. Have contacted UK innovv distributor. To be honest, I have low expectations, unit is out off warranty. But you never know.
Well...that looks bad and must not happen. According to the specs, the DVR has an IP65 classification.
"Water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects."
Though I think this classification for the DVR surely is a little bit more marketing than reality (just look the sealing of the top button), it is what they advertise.
So you should contact Innovv at tech@innovv.com for a replacement.
This may have something to do with it.
Looks like the waterproofing is not quite what it needs to be. This unit is 14 months old, I had one of the first deliveries in the UK when released.
Not terribly impressed.
