I've been using the USB connecter for power for the past month and everything is working fine. I want to use the 12v to 5v DC/DC converter instead. My plan is to connect the converter to the switched power side of a fuse block (http://www.fuzeblocks.com/) for power. If I connect to the switched power side of the fuse block, can I ignore the yellow switched wire coming off of the DC/DC converter?

Heard back from Customer Service today. They recommended I hook the red and yellow wires together to the switched power side. It worked! No more plugging in and unplugging the USB connection every time I go for a ride. Here's their actual response.
I am sure if the Red power cable connect to the switched power side of the fuse block, and the switched power controlled by Ignition signal. You can connect the yellow switched wire together with the red power cable.
That means the K1 12v to 5v Converter unit is installed as directed:
Black=Ground Red=Power (the switched power side of the fuse block) Yellow=Ignition Switch Power (the switched power side of the fuse block) DVR Unit will turn on when bike ignition is turned on DVR Unit will turn off when bike ignition is turned off.
