When I first had the camera I had the same issues, even a new motorcycle battery and a Fuzeblock didn't fix the issue, in the end some EMI supressors on each of the four USB connections into the recording unit got it working. The problems are back again, really quite fed up with this unit given what it cost me. Here are two videos showing the problems I'm getting at startup. Has anyone here got a unit that works consitently without having to take the battery out or factory reset every week?

After a few hours tinkering in the garage it would seem the rear facing camera is dead/causing the problems. Raised a support ticket but not heard back yet.
Had the exact same thing happen to mine (Car version) when I first got it. Luckily hasn't happened in a while since then, and yes, you have to take the battery out to get it to stop. I was going to get 3 more for the wife and daughters, but am having 2nd thoughts - don't want to dump $1k on units that aren't reliable.
PS your Youtube links were a bit mangled; Here's one I got to work:

I have this problem also, but I have narrowed it down a little. The problem does not happen unless I do one of 2 things: either remove the memory card to read it OR remove the DVR and connect it to a computer to read it. I have found that when I replace the card in the DVR or reconnect the DVR to the system, the problem will happen. If reformat the memory card with the DVR after removal or reconnecting the DVR, the first time I start it up, the problem will happen. If I remove the battery, and restart it, the problem will not happen again until I remove the memory card again or disconnect the DVR. This is NOT a memory card problem as I have 3 different 128 Gig class 10 memory cards and all work fine in my GoPro when recording at 4K video which requires greater data recording than the INNOVV K1 system. All the memory cards I have tried do the same thing. I wonder if a software update would fix this problem?
Looks like the fault is being caused by a dead rear camera, support ticket raised.
@Steve, can you remove rear camera and see if still has such issue? You also can remove front camera and check if only rear camera connected,if it has issue.
@deam, Did you make custom setting on DVR? can you make setting to be default? and format SD card in DVR.
No custom settings. BUT when I originally set the DVR up, I made a mistake in entering the Car ID, and I cannot change that now. I have tried everything I know to change it, but the ID that is there is sort of greyed out, and cannot be changed, even when resetting to default. I will try resetting to default again and reformatting the card and see if there is any difference, Thanks.
@rock-liu
If I unplug the rear camera the unit works fine.
If I move the front camera to the rear camera socket the unit works fine.
If I unplug the front camera and plug the rear camera in the unit won't start up.
If I move the rear camera to the from camera socket the unit won't start up.
The fault is following the rear camera.
I have written all this in a support request via the INNOVV web site so hopefully support are looking at it.
@ Steve, If so, the rear camera has issue.
Your last two email had been overlooked by support guys, just sent you the message.
Both you and the support persons had good communication in the past.
Same problems!
I had a camera that leaked and was damaged by water. Now the DVR crashes when the cameras are connected. Doesn't matter which cameras are connected.
Also, the DVR crashed faster when the power is connected. I've tried resetting the DVR to factory default but it hasn't helped.
I reported my faulty camera to the retailer here in Australia back in March, but I've had extraordinary difficulty getting a replacement and now it seems my DVR is faulty as well!
I must say I'm very disappointed with the poor quality of this unit considering I paid A$500 for it! I'm even less impressed when the retailer I bought it from tells me that Innovv are being very difficult and are not inclined to help me with replacements!
Needless to say I'm getting REALLY PISSED OFF!
I want somebody from Innovv to contact me, before I get on Facebook and publically shit all over these cameras as well as Innovv.
I'm not quite as annoyed as you Ben but given what i paid and the fact i have to post the faulty camera back at my expense does irratate me. it's a shame as the camera has been ok for a good few months ever since fitting some ferrite rings to combat the crashing whenever I used high beam. Certainly doesn't feel like there was much in the way of testing that took place when it was being designed.
@Ben, We even did not hear your case before.
Can you let me know when did you purchase the camera system from the reseller?
Why did not the reseller support you? what is the reason?
Please be sure, we take care of products and customers. that is the reason we have a good reputation among riding people from worldwide.
Hi Rock,
The reseller claims he has been dealing with the importer and he tells me the the importer has been dealing with you.
I've been told, that Innovv is not being helpful and since sending images taken from the defective camera more than a month ago I have heard nothing.
If you'd give me you direct email address I'd be happy to forward the entire email chain to you and tell you privately who the retailer is. I don't know who the importer is, the retailer refuses to give me that information.
Hi Ben, you can send message to info@innovv.com.
There is the challenge.
Selling product through the distribution network helps to reach more riding people, but we can not good manage the customer support.
Customer purchasing from our website, they experienced our good support since the beginning, built trust with each other. but till now, still no too much riders know INNOVV.
I appreciate that Rock. I purchased through a local reseller so that I would have some protection under Australian law. But, in order to take my claim to the Government body, I first need to exhaust all other avenues.
I've already sent an email to info@innovv.com and somebody by the name of Quentina Qiu has replied. I'm writing a reply to that person now and I'm asking him? her? to include you on further communications. Is that OK?
Quentina is her :), and you can keep info@innovv.com included.
I do understand many people like you, prefer to purchase from local, and have not experienced they can get even more support from INNOVV.
I know a long way ahead to let people know INNOVV and the care to the customers.
My DVR hangs frequently too ... "Recording Stop, Recording Stop ...." when the engine/power is cut off.
I had my DVR replaced recently due to firmware issues, still the annoying "Recording Stop, Recording Stop ...." happens.
Submitted a case with video to info@innovv.com, but was given standard reply to check on connectors and wiring ....
I am guessing vibration might be the cause and am thinking of adding damper to the bracket that hold the DVR. Will report back if I got good result.
Just want to report back adding damper to the bracket does not solve the "Recording STOPPED .." issue after engine is switched off.
The frequency of occurence is almost once every 5 rides, super annoying and which require to unscrew the back seat to access the DVR to remove the batt.
I have exhausted all options, making sure connectors are firmly inserted, reformatting SD card, turning many options On/Off just to see if it make a difference. But the problem persist,
Can Innovv please do some reliability testing??
@ lowcm, Can you let me know what motorcycle do you have?
The recording start/stop issue can be made by different reasons.
1. You can turn ignition on (Engine off), let camera system to record 1 hours, and check if there is recording start/stop issue. If has, replace SD card.
2. Can you recall if such issue happened when Acceleration, sounding the horn?
The camera system had been tested 24 hours without issue before shipping.
Regards,
@rock. Innovv K1 was mounted on Honda CRF1000L.
1. DVR records well when ignition is turn on to start a ride. SD card is the Samsung one that Innovv provided FOC when the K1 was purchased.
2. As I clearly explained in my previous post, when the the ride is over and the ignition switch is turned off, the DVR hangs and goes into an infinite loop of "RECORDING STOPPED, RECORDING STOPPED ............." till the DVR battery goes flat.
Could you please ask your engineers to look into the firmware why the DVR freezes and goes into an infinite loop when the switched power is turn off?
Looking forward to a new firmware that solve the problem once and for all.
@lowcm, Understand, and you can click below link and download bin file to update firmware.
