I've been using the H5 since late june (first version camera bought in februari 2023). I use low settings:
1080p / 60fps / medium bitrate / 60Hz / 5 minute interval clips, using a fairly new Samsung 128GB EVO plus U3 A2 V30 Class 10 MicroSd card and connected to an external large capacity powerbank.
Previously I used the low bitrate setting, which went fine for at least two hours. I've switched to medium bitrate setting and now the camera overheats... Sometimes within minutes (I then changed from 50Hz to 60Hz setting) but always within 30 minutes. I then get small videoclips, then the camera stops working. Sometimes I can feel the camera vibrating (resetting?) during a trip. I then inspect the camera and it is realy hot.
I've tried switching to the original battery, same problem. Formatted SD-card to Fat32, did a surface test -> no errors.
I've tried recording at home (low motion image since the camera is at a fixed point, pointing at the tv) and that increases the recording time to about 30 minutes before the overheating problem starts again.
Since the video can be set to 1080p/60fps/medium bitrate (30MB/s), it can't be the problem (It's a low setting compared to the maximum 4K/30fps setting).
The only time the camera worked fine, was out of the box. It was then connected to my old phone. First thing I do is do a time-update before driving, then switch off the phone. I've also updated the camera to firmware H5.C.20230213.V1.1.02
Note: The setting 1080p/60fps/low bitrate/50Hz setting seemed to produce fast playing video's. The camera also seems to stop recording when I exit the app (latest version, just updated few days ago) on my Android phone, wich is realy annoying...
Picture of how the videofiles are stored now:

I've contacted the Dutch INNOVV dealership www.camerashop24.nl where the camera originated from on the 10th of september to ask for repair, but they don't reply.
I have tested again in the open, a 3 hour trip. This time I did it like I did when I first got the camera: Time update with the app, exit the app, switch off Wifi on the phone, disconnect cam from external battery and reconnected battery when driving off. Everything went fine the whole trip (a little over 3 hrs, ni pictures taken) 🙂
Almost same settings but after a factory reset, micro-sd format, change 60 to 50Hz and about a 10 degree Celsius decrease in outside temperature. There was file structure corruption, when I tested the card after repeated failure in recording. This could have been the problem also.
I think the problem was either the weather (too ot: 35 degrees outside) sd-card corruption, or taking a picture when driving using the power on button (which also activates Wifi, Wifi might be trying to connect to a neigboring device thus using cpu cycles).
Anyway, at this moment the problem is no more, hopfully I won't have to restart this topic 😉
Thank you. Also the support dept, who has sent me information and firmware through the reseller here in the Netherlands.
I did some more temperature tests. This with high and low resolutions, bit rates, etc. The temperature remains the same in all tests, around 45 degrees Celsius. I let each test last about 4 hours in an environment of 24 degrees Celsius. The H5 was also not cooled by wind.
See in the photo how I placed the temperature sensor.
Again, searching for the problem, I found that the https://www.innovv.com/firmware-app]firmware update on the INNOVV website (H5 firmware:
H5.C.20230213.V1.1.02) links to https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rMQINjftaPltcZugIXJQRJPNk5cKBVg0/view this google drive file and it downloads a file named "INNOVV H5.BRN". This update changes the video codec from HEVC to AVC. Apparently the hardware can't cope with this codec, overheating the hardware and creating all kinds of problems (like accelerated playback of video?). I'd like to see a link to the original firmware, so I can revert the update please.
