Good evening all, first time here. I use the C5 on my motorcycle as a dashcam to register things on the road. So I checked in the beginning if it all worked, and it did
.
But now I really checked the movies made last weekend on a trip. And now it looks like the movies are 'weavy'. Sometimes it is (sort of) OK, and then it gets worse.
My settings are:
HD P60 (1280-720)
Firmware updated last week
What do I do wrong??
Frans
Not necessarily between the rubber and the cam. Just add some weight to the mounting. The camera is currently too light for the hard damper to work and adding some weight could help here. How much weight is necessary depends on the hardness of the damper.
You mean, adding an extra metal ring between the rubber and the camera? I'll try .
OK guys & girls, next step.
First, sorry for the late response but it took me a while between all the normal work issues :-(.
I got a different (harder) rubber mount, but the picture is still vibrating. Can it be that he rubber mount is just too much rubber?? Should I go back to just a rubber ring around the mounting screw??
BTW, the replacement camera was back in a few days. Many, many many thanks for this
Thnx Rock, I just got an email from the distributor that they will send me an replacement.
Thnx for the great service
Thnx Frostie, I just also sent an email to tech@innovv . See what they say. I hope they say something quick, because I am going on a weeks ride in three weeks
But I looked at the image and this is what I saw
I looked back in all the videos and this is what happened ….
When I removed the camera from the mount water came pouring out. It should be waterproof, shouldn't it??
So, it took me a while to get things done. But here is what I'vs got now.
I used the rubber mount on the left. It has a soft type of rubber and looking back it was too soft
The camera moved in all directions during riding. I bought another mount (bigger with harder rubber) and today I wanted to test it.
You could try to use something like this.
Thnx Frostie and Rock Liu for your comments.
I ride an BMW R1100S and the camera is mounted on a part of the fairing. With rubber rings between all parts.
There is no movement on the fairing part (ask the flies :-) ) I see now that the rubber ring is starting to break up. Maybe I should renew it and not tighten it so much??
Or has anybody an other option for a mountingpoint??
Thnx again, Frans
Hello Katja,
as Rock said, this effect is caused by vibrations and is called "jello effect". It is the same effect as I posted here https://www.innovv.com/forum/innovv-k2/what-jello-effect-looks-like
All you can do is find a mounting position with less vibrations and/or dampen the camera. To my experience it is not a good idea to mount the camera directly on the frame of the bike or crash bars, as this parts get all the vibrations of the motor. It is better to mount it on parts which are not directly mounted on the frame, like the lamp mask, windshield, fairing, etc.
Hi Frans,
Sorry for delayed reply.
Watched the video, the waves was caused by vibration.
Where did you mount the camera? What motorcycle do you have?
You can find other spot which has less vibration to mount the camera. Or,
You can add rubber to the bracket, that is to reduce the vibration.
