I'm using a Samsung Galaxy SIII, and have not been able to get the 1080P video to play through the phone. I've tested playing the 1080P video on a newer phone and it's fine, so it looks like the Samsung Galaxy can't handle playing the 1080P video. The Samsung will play 720P video but there's a problem with the DVR resetting from 720P back to 1080P every time it powers down and back up. It appears that it defaults to 1080P on power-up and ignores the previously set 720P. It wouldn't be a problem if I was going to get a new phone, but I'm stuck with the Galaxy at the moment. So the option to set to 720P (and have it stay there) would be good. Anybody had the same issue?

Hi Dave, Current the firmware guys are busy, I do expect those can be updated within a month.
Hi Rock,
It's great to see your response to my feedback. Assuming the change is assigned to the next revision, do you have a target date for release of the firmware update?
Regards
Dave
Hi Dave,
OK, your below options has been on firmware improvement list.
Always, So happy we have very open and frank discussion and work together on improvements.
Have a nice weekend,
Rock
Hi Rock Liu,
I understand that most phones on the market may be able to play 1080P, and I understand that the C5 is a HD DVR. I think the option to record in 720P (and keep the setting) is still worth having for those who want to use that option (SD card size being a consideration).
However, I'm not overly concerned due to the fact that it won't be an issue for the majority of people who have newer phones. It is more an irritation that I'm not able to review video at the roadside without upgrading my phone, and the C5 is advertised as being able to record at 720P (which is true only if you set it to 720P and it doesn't power down and back up while you own it).
Why have the 720P option, if the unit defaults to 1080P every power-up? Every other setting is kept between power-ups, so it doesn't make sense. If this isn't going to be changed it means I will have to upgrade my phone (which I would love to do, but that isn't the point) to review video a the roadside (which could be just the time when I will need to review video). My preference for user settings is to keep whatever settings the user selects.
So the options are either:
1. Stop defaulting to 1080P, and keep whatever the user setting is, or
2. Remove the 720P resolution option in the settings, or
3. Leave it as it is.
Can you advise which is your likely course of action?
By the way, I'm very happy with the quality of the hardware and video. But there's still a bit more work to be done on the soft side.
Regards
Dave
You are right,
We had discussion during the development about the issue you mentioned. Considering that the most mobile phone on the market can play 1080p, no reason to allow people to pay with 720p. So we made such setting.
