My Innovv C5 (bought new in May 2020) intermitently turns itself off. This has happened several times but only if you have waited 6 mins (yes, sounds crazy but this is the case!). The problem is this:
Engine Start = video is recording OK
Ride bike for 10 min.
Stop Engine. Wait 2 mins. Start Engine again = video is recording OK
Ride bike for 10 min.
Stop Engine. Wait 2 mins. Start Engine again = video is recording OK
Ride bike for 10 min.
Stop Engine. Wait *6 mins*. Start Engine again = video is NOT recording*
Ride bike for 10 min.
Stop Engine. Wait 2 mins. Start Engine again = video is recording OK
Ride bike for 10 min.
When video is NOT recording*
- Innovv blue power LED is on
- Innovv recording unit red LED flashes once after power-on, unit then turns off (no lights at all)
What I have changed
- Have re-routed all Innovv cables away from any electrical noise
- Have placed Innovv recording unit away from heat/vibration
- All connectors are OK and not loose/damaged
- Have changed memory cards from a new 32Gb FAT32 formatted SanDisk Class 10 memory card to a new 32Gb FAT32 formatted SAMSUNG EvoPlus Class 10 memory card. Still seeing this issue.
Suggestions welcome else I will have to request a full refund.

Hello, apologize for any inconvenience that has caused first.
Could you kindly try to use the USB cable to connect the DVR to the wall adapter (instead of the PC or phone)? Then manually stop the connection for every 3 mins or 6 mins to check whether the DVR will stop recording or not.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I will test and reply as soon as possible.
Hello again,
I did many tests over several hours. This was a lot of work! But here are the test results:
TEST WITH USB CABLE
===================
- I connect a USB cable to a 5V USB power source wall plug.
- Other end of the same USB cable is connected to the Innovv DVR unit USB port. USB power in on.
- The Innovv camera is connected to the DVR unit
- Motorcycle ignition is off.
- Innovv 12V->5V power unit is off.
- Tested with 2 minute/3 minute/4 minute/4.5minute/5 minute 'power off' intervals
RESULT: No 'not recording' failures seen - PASS
TEST WITH MOTORBIKE POWER (NO USB)
===================================
- The Innovv camera is connected to the DVR unit
- Motorcycle ignition is on.
- Innovv 12V->5V power unit is on.
- Tested with 2 minute/3 minute/4 minute/4.5minute/5 minute 'power off' intervals -
RESULT: FAIL.
Several 'not recording' failures seen. See the attached video "InnovFail" taken after 4.5 minutes of no power, then ignition is turned on: Innovv DVR unit boots but does not record. The bike is a Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere.
Louis.de support have been in contact with me and are sending to me a new 12V-5V DC converter unit. But I include the test information for other Innovv customers :0) I hope this is of use.
Thanks,

Am having problems uploading the video. Here it is again.
Thank you for your detailed reply here. Please kindly keep in touch with the Louis.de support to change a DC convertor first. May you have any other question, please feel free to contact us.
Hello again,
I received your replacement Innovv 12V->5V DC Convertor on 1st October 2020 and installed it on my bike. I observed the following:
- Start engine. 2 hours continuous riding - recording is OK.
- Stop engine for ~5 minutes (for example, to refuel the bike). Restart engine. *No recording is made* This is an intermittent problem: happened 3 times out of 6.
.
This is the same issue as before.
I have shared this information with Louis.de support and will be asking them to advise what the next steps are to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
ddentrec (UK)
Hello again,
I have replaced some electrical parts on my bike, including a relay and diode pack, to try and fix this issue. I think it is unlikely to be the Innovv recording unit, but I will do more testing.
My view is that there is an electrical 'spike' causing the unit to either not shut down correctly, or not power up correctly. Please let me do further testing over the next few weeks.
Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for your updaate here.
Hello again,
I have again thoroughly tested my INNOVV C5 setup with the new 12V->5V DC Convertor.
On my Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere and I can confirm that the following problem still intermittently occurs:
- Ignition is on. Video is being recorded OK. - Turn off ignition. Video recording stops OK. - Wait about 5 minutes. - Turn on ignition. Video recording does not start (not OK).
I then transferred the same INNOVV C5 camera, DVR and 12V->5V DC Convertor to my other motorbike (Kawasaki GTR1400):
- I see the same intermittent issue.
On 25th October I stopped my bike and turned off the ignition for ~5minutes. I then started the ignition but later found that that the video recording did not re-start and as a result *90 minutes of video was not recorded*. This is clearly not good.
Kindly advise me, or louis.de support, on what the next steps are to resolve this serious problem.
Thank you for your support,

Thank you for your kind feedback here. May we know the video recording will never start or it will start recording with delay of 20 seconds?
Also, please kindly send the firmware version number of your K2 to us.
Hello, the firmware version has been upgraded to C5.20200722.V0.47 and still I see this issue. Most recently almost an hour of video was not recorded after ignition was turned off for 5 minutes, then on again. Am working with Louis.de support on this problem. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you for your feedback here. We will forward this to our colleagues and will get back to you soon.
Sorry for the late response here. Per our colleagues, it needed to be sent back to further check to define its problem. Please kindly contact the Louis.de for following issues.
