Just received message that the lens holder was broken when installed the lens.

There is misunderstanding about lens install.
The wall of lens was designed to be thin, so it is flexible and tight to fit the lens. it has a small open end, that is not big enough to push the lens into lens holder.

The lens should be slip into the lens holder from smaller end, and will make a sticker as to the package to remind.

Went looking for a screw to fit my bracket. Ended up forcing the screw in the kit into the bracket. I reckon it was a lump of glue or brass thread stopping screw, finally got it to screw in without seeming to cross thread, time to fit it this weekend.
After 3 clips breaking while the bike is parked and the issue on my two C-5 setups killing my radio
reception on my 17 Harley, I think I've finally solved the problem. I yanked the cameras off the bike and put a pair of Garmins on. Works well.
Hi Carl, mine is attached with Velcro, it works great, there is no vibration affecting the recording as it seems to absorb the shocks. I decided to use this because the mounting bracket broke and I did not want to be drilling holes into the plastics of the bike itself (R1200RT LC) and the only really good spot for the camera was directly under the main headlight which is dead smooth plastic casing and no way to mount it.
As I already had Industrial strength Velcro I use on other applications I tried it and it works a treat. I posted a photo of it on this thread so you can see how I attached it.
1/4" nut on lens bracket is not 1/4" - tried to screw in black screw provided in kit but doesn't screw in without cross threading. Tried screw in go pro bracket provided and it's ok but won't screw into lens bracket. Any ideas??
Tried to install camera on my bike today but the thread for the lens holder is different to black 1/4" screw sent with kit. Tried go pro style bracket and screw goes into that ok. Tried go pro screw in bracket into lens holder nut again doesn't fit, don't want to force it for fear of breaking bracket/cross threading screw .....any ideas ??
Hi, update, the industrial Velcro worked a treat, no drilling of expensive plastic trim, and because the R1200rt did not really have a good central position for the Lens, only under the headlamp.
Mine broke during the installation, it cost me $10 USD for another one... The mount is not good, I fabed another one and get too much vibration from the Harley, going to purchase a Ram mount and try that route.
Hi, my mount clip also broke, I think that the cold weather is making the plastic brittle. To get round the problem I have used industrial strength velcro wrapped around the camera, and other part stuck on the underside of the head light unit on my R1200rt. Seems to work a treet, just got to get the thing to record on a run, will record sat in the garage when I am messing around with the app but don't seem to want to "plug and play" when I go for a ride :-(
I started the bike (Harley Davidson cruiser) a month after the installation. Mounted on handlebar using a RAM mount. I never noticed the camera vibrating more than anything else on the bike. Anyway, when started, the camera dropped and hung by the cable. Apparently vibration over time caused the mount to crack. If you have a new and improved version of the mount available I would love try one. As it stands, right now the camera is zip-tied to the portion of mount that remained in tact. Please advise how to obtain a new and improved mount.
@Bob, glad to see that. post mail always takes time.
@bron9270, please send email message to our guys, will arrnage new one to you.
My clip also broke when I parked the bike after a ride. Went out in the garage the next day and the broken piece was laying on the floor below the mount.
Hi Rock! The three new clips arrived. I installed them and hope they stand up to normal use. Thank you.
Hi Rock, I could use a beefier mount too. My C3 mounts broke, had to cable tie and looks like the C5 mount will have the same problem, I have not mounted it yet. Rubber sleeve mount would be ideal.
It has been more than a week on the way, let's have eye on it.
Not yet.
Thanks for photos, have been working on improvement.
Will keep you updated once it is ready.
Have you received the parcel for lens holder we sent?
Clamp broke while riding on normal paved roads! A material less rigid (like hard rubber) is suggested.
The current material is transparent PC, that is fixable and looks high quality, but compare to the tough condition in using, that is too thin.
Will change the clip to be thicker and using nylon material.
Once new improvement made, will send it to all of you.
And thanks for feedback, that helps to make improvement.
i think the plastic is to brittle
ive had to modify a mount from another cam when mine broke
you need to concider all year round usage & winters where the grit thge roads with salt
im a long distance commuter on my bike & do 140miles daily & didnt realy ecpect the clip to last
