Installed my brand new c5 and after few days went to start the bike and it was dead. Somehow the camera managed to drain the battery in that short amount of time.
I thought the point of installing the yellow wire to the accessories was to shut it off while engine is off.
Is this a faulty unit or is this common(in which case not worth the premium price tag.)
What happend to install it and forget about it?
It drains my battery too. Not as fast as yours, but I've put it down to the movement detector causing the drain.
Interested in what others have to say about this.
Following. I emailed Innovv and inquired about the possibility of The C5 having a parasitic power draw when the bike is off, and they replied that the C5 does not consume any power when the motorcycle is off and parked. I’m skeptical about their answer but do not have the technical skill to check myself. i have also experienced some battery issues since the C5 was installed.
installing a time delay relay would solve the issue but when you spend this much on a camera (when my car dashcam is £30 and have been using 3 of them for the last 2 years non stop without fail) you would expect a time delay relay to be already fitted in the innovv power converter.
As a mature system, C5 seldom receives feedback of battery consumption.
Based on your feedback, we will consider whether the problem is caused by converter.
You can find a dealer for further troubleshooting or get a replacement.
Have just installed the C5 but wondered if it was necessary to connect to + battery as I use a Fuze block and can wire to ignition live from there. Can't see the point of a direct feed as well, unless you want to use the vibration/movement facility which i don't.
