The wifi signal seems very weak,,, the dvr is mounted under the passenger seat,, about 36" from the handlebar mounted Galaxy 8. I have to constantly reboot the dvr to get the wifi reconnected,,, then it drops again within a minute or two. Is this normal ?? I will try moving my phone to within a few inches of the dvr as a test. Any advice ?? cheers, Alan

Why are you trying to connect to your phone whilst riding?
This feature is only for viewing what's been previously recorded.
Thanks for the reply, John. I was just following the Innovv C5 instructions, steps B2-B3-B4 which show to connect wifi first, and then start the app for control of all functions, including recording. Are you saying that I should just go ride,,, then check later to see if the dvr was functioning ?? I can give this a try, but wondering why they don't just say that in the instructions. Our rain is to stop later on this afternoon. I have found that my phone and the C5 have difficulty making the wifi connection, unless the C5 is just powering up. cheers, Alan
The instructions aren't the best.
Once set up, as soon as you turn the ignition on/start the engine, the device will begin recording. Then you can play back your trip.
I found the feature (I forget its name) that locks clips and stops them from being deleted when it detects a bump to be far too sensitive. I don't know if they ever sorted that out as its been a long time since I connected the device to the PC to check for any updates.
I did the app upgrades and firmware updates, shortly after starting on the installation. The dvr actually asked for more current firmware. I think the feature you refer too is called G-shock. I have turned that off in the settings menu, but have not really tested it's function as yet. I did note that it had 2 or 3 sensitivity options,,, plus the off position. The rain finally stopped,, but it is like 3c degrees out. So testing will wait another day or two,,, cheers,, Alan
We recommend that you try to update the firmware.
The SD card used to update the firmware needs to be in FAT32 format.
As I mentioned in my last post, I did complete the firmware update. And the sd card used was a FAT32 format. What is your latest firmware id number ?? Thx, Alan
The version number is K2.20200410.V0.67

@innovv Thanks for sending the version number. My current firmware is V0.47, so I will update again. However, the Link that you sent has a K2.bin file,,, Is this ok for my C5 ??
@Alan Maguire oh, sorry.

The latest version of the current C5 is also V0.47
Check my old post, had wifi issues in the past with an Iphone 8, and 11. Manually setting IP, Subnet mask and router fixed my issues. Your Settings on your android phone might be name differently. https://www.innovv.com/forum/innovv-c5-motocam/can-t-connect-to-wifi-workaround-fix-for-iphone
Many thanks to John, Bishop and Innovv,,, I think I have it sorted out now. My biggest problem came from following the instructions literally. In fact, as John points out, the dvr does not have to be connected to a smartphone until a setting needs to be changed,, or the phone is used to download video segments. Just want to finish off this thread, for the benefit of future new users. Cheers,, Alan
