My C5 recorder unit gets extremely hot. I am talking so hot that it hurts to handle it for about 10 minutes after a ride. (I wanted to take the memory card out to download the video.) Does anyone else have this issue?
The chipset inside DVR generates heat when operation. And DVR is water proof, to release heat from inside to outside, we made DVR case with Aluminum. That means, all heat generated inside has been transferred to outside, so you can feel it is hot. That is different from the plastic case, it will not so hot, but the heat inside is not easy to release, that is not good for chipset.
More than that, As it is aluminum, cooling down is fast.
We had done high and low temperature test, the DVR can work under 70C degree without problem, and the termperature under seat can not reach such temperature.
